Tommy POV
The days slowly got better as Tommy began to accept Purpled as his family. He cried less and less about the family he had wished for. Allowing those feelings to disappear.
Now it felt like Purpled was the only family he had ever had. And he was fine with that. Purpled was all he really needed.
Tommy yawned, slowly opening his eyes and squinting. He smiled, thankful it was finally the weekend. He could finally just spend time with his brother. Quickly he slipped out of bed, changing into his normal clothes.
He grinned at the new picture on his dresser. It was of him and Purpled, grinning like mad. The two were hugging like they had known each other their entire lives. And that's honestly what it felt like. They couldn't imagine living without each other.
The blonde left his room, making his way to the kitchen. Purpled stood, humming to himself as he made eggs.
"Hey Purpled!" Tommy greeted.
Purpled glanced towards him, smiling, "Hey Toms. How'd you sleep?"
"Good."
The brunette chuckled, "You ready for our big adventure?" He grabbed two plates from the cupboard, dishing out breakfast for the two of them. He offered one to Tommy, who took it gratefully.
"You know it big man!" Tommy exclaimed loudly, grabbing a fork and digging into his eggs.
"Glad to hear it." Purpled grinned, digging into his food.
They sat at the table, making up conversation as they ate. They finished a half an hour later, putting their plates away. Quickly they pulled on their shoes and coats, pushing each other playfully as they went out the door.
They headed to the mall, laughing as they went. Their day was spent teasing each other as they bought things, simply enjoying each other's company.
Finally they sat down to eat. Purpled quickly offered to get them food, leaving Tommy on his own.
Tommy grinned, enjoying being by himself for a moment. God he loved his brother so much. What would he ever be without Purpled?
But of course, the moment of happiness was short-lived as it often was.
"Tommy?"
Tommy's eyes grew wide at the voice. He knew that voice. It was a voice he wasn't sure if he was ready to hear. Slowly he turned, knowing exactly who would be there.
There stood his family, his old family. They looked the same as they always did, besides the fact that they looked absolutely ticked.
"Hello..." he said, his voice trailing off. He glanced back towards the direction Purpled had gone, wishing he would just come back already.
"Is it really you Tommy?" Wilbur asked, blinking as if he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.
"What did you think I was dead or something?" Tommy replied coldly, his heart racing.
Phil stepped forward, causing Tommy to instantly step back. "Where have you been? We've been-"
"Oh cut the bullshit Phil. You don't care about me. You never did." the blonde snapped, glaring at the man he was related to. "You never had enough time for me. Which is fine! Because I found someone who actually does has enough time for me. Someone who actually loves me!"
"Tommy we do-"
"No you don't!" Tommy shouted, gaining the attention of a few onlookers. Not that Tommy cared, he wanted them to feel embarrassed.
"Where are you staying?" Techno asked, a slight hint of concern hidden in his monotone voice.
"Why do you care?"
Techno sighed, looking down. "I just want to make sure you're safe, that's all."
"I-"
"What the hell is going on here?" a new voice came from behind Tommy, instantly stepping in front of him. "What are you doing here?"
"We were just leaving." Techno responded, guilt lacing his gaze.
"You- you took my son away from me." Phil glared at the boy, stepping closer.
Purpled pushed him back, creating a wall between the father and son. "You're right. I took him away from the man who doesn't love him. I took him away from the man who is not worthy of being called his father."
"You little-"
"Let's go Dad." Wilbur suddenly said.
Phil looked towards him in surprise. "But-"
"He's happy. That's all that matters." the brunette looked sadly towards the blonde. He sighed, "Tommy I know you'll never come back and I don't expect you to. But just know that I- we- are sorry for everything." he paused, contemplating his words. "I will always love you." he whispered, grabbing Phil by the arm.
Techno followed, nodding along with Wilbur's words.
Tommy watched after them, saying nothing. Purpled glanced towards him, pulling him into a hug. "You okay Tommy?" he muttered, tightening his grip.
The blonde nodded, watching the group walk out of sight. "Thank you Purpled... for everything."
Purpled pulled out of the hug, looking into his blue eyes.
"Anything for you little brother."
