Tommy POV

Tommy swallowed, glaring at the instrument that was sure to be his demise. Closing his eyes, he focused on every bit of courage he had left. Every part of his body ached worse than it ever had before, but that could never change his loyalty. "I will never betray my family."

Anthony chuckled, "I'll see you in hell then." His finger rested on the trigger, prepared to fire. Tommy continued to glare at him, refusing to show even the smallest sliver of fear. When he died he wanted to be fearless.

The gun when off as Tommy prepared his last breath. His eyes fluttered shut as he focused. Why didn't it hurt? Was he already numb? And that's when he heard a voice.

"Get the hell away from my brother." the venom that dripped from the man's mouth was something Tommy had never heard before. Could he really care that much?

The blonde's eyes shot open as he watched the man fall to the floor. He was dead. Tommy looked up, his jaw dropping. He was really going to survive this?

Footsteps faced to his side, as he took a deep breath. He was okay.

"Tommy!" Wilbur was the first to his side, cradling the boy in his arms. "Are you okay?"

"I-" I stuttered in confusion. My lungs struggled to supply enough oxygen, even as I gasped. "I-I can't breathe-" And that's when I felt the pain. My hand drifted to my chest and sure enough, I felt it.

Blood.

Techno POV

As soon as Tommy's eyes drooped, Techno panicked. We weren't fast enough. He still got hurt. Without even a moment of hesitation, Techno picked the boy up, rushing out the door. Wilbur and Phil were quick to shoot anyone who even dared to threaten them.

Techno couldn't focus on anything except for Tommy. His heartbeat was fading as each breath became raspier and raspier. "Hang on Toms." he pleaded, running on foot to the nearest hospital. He had never been so glad to be so close to one.

It was only four blocks away.

"You have to take this serious Toms." Techno reminded the boy, watching his eyes gleam with excitement."

"You don't trust me?" Tommy glanced at him, sighing.

Techno shook his head, "I do. But I also know how careless you can get."

The blonde scoffed, turning away. "You sound like Dad. I was hoping you could at least pretend like you felt that I was ready."

Techno grabbed Tommy's shoulder, forcing him to look towards him. "It's not that Tommy... I just don't know what I would do if you go hurt." the older admitted, not looking the younger in the eyes. Techno was never one to admit his soft spot for his brother.

Tommy offered him a smile, wrapping his arms around his brother. "Nothing will happen to me. And even if something happens, you'll save me like you always do."

Techno gulped, trying not to look down at the lifeless body in his arms. He failed Tommy. He couldn't protect him. He shook his head, trying to focus on running faster.

Three more blocks.

"What do you do when something goes wrong?" Tommy questioned, picking at his fingernails.

Techno glanced at the younger, putting his pistol away. Where was the optimistic Tommy he knew and loved? He shrugged, "I just make it up as I go and trust the process."

The blonde rolled his eyes, not believing him for a second. "There's more to it than that, there must be. Because if that were the case then Wilbur would be the same as you. But he's not. He can't get out of situations like you do."
