Am I Even A Prince? (Tommy angst) (2/3)

Tommy POV

Tommy froze with fear at the look in his father's eyes. It was like a raging fire, just daring him to do one thing out of line. Techno and Wilbur stood behind him, panic evident in their eyes.

"I-I-" Tommy stammered. But there was nothing he could, nothing he could say that could make the punishment any less. Tubbo looked at him with wide eyes, terrified out of his skin. Quickly Tommy grabbed the brunette's hand, gently rubbing his thumb against his knuckle. The last thing he wanted was for him to go into a panic attack. "It's going to be okay." Tommy whispered to him, offering an uneasy smile. It didn't meet his eyes like it usually would.

"Do you know how scared we were?" Wilbur shouted, running towards the blonde. He pulled the younger into a hug, terrified that he might disappear.

"We thought you were taken." Techno added, at the look of confusion the boy's face.

"H-How did you find me?" Tommy hated how much his voice shook.

"You didn't exactly make it hard." The eldest rolled his eyes.

Phil looked towards Tubbo, a hard look in his eye. Tommy immediately pulled the boy behind him, feeling the need to protect his best friend at all costs. 

"Tubbo had nothing to do with this." Tommy spoke, forcing his fear deeper. He pulled out of Wilbur's arms, turning to Phil.

"He has everything to do with this!" Phil exclaimed. "He must be some spy, looking to earn your trust enough to kill you! Do you not remember we're at war? We can't trust anyone!"

"Tubbo isn't like that!" Tommy shouted, horrified by even the idea. He gripped Tubbo's hand tighter, feeling the brunette begin to shake. 

"How do you know Tommy?" Phil's words were like vemon. The three of them moved away from the entrance, closer to Tommy.

"Because he isn't. Tubbo would never do something like that." the blonde insisted. "Just let him go." His eyes were locked on the entrance, he knew that was the only way out.

"I can't do that Tommy." Phil shook his head, a defensive look in his eyes. 

"I'm not letting you take him." Tommy glared, moving towards the window. He glanced over his shoulder, hating how terrified Tubbo was. How could his father be capable of something like this?

"Tommy." Techno warned.

"He's my best friend! He's more family to me than any of you!" Tommy shouted, suddenly rushing forward and racing past the royals. Before any of them could even move to grab him, Tommy was nearly all the way down the ladder. He moved quicker than they could have ever expected. All his years of sneaking around had finally come in handy.

Tommy raced into the woods, hoping to get away as fast as possible. They jumped into a small hole that was barely visible, near the stump of a tree. It was a secret hideout they had discovered not long ago. It was a last resort for them.

Tubbo was still breathing heavily, his eyes glassy. Tommy pulled him into a hug, scooting them closer to the furthest corner. "It's okay Tubs, I'm not leaving. They aren't taking me away from you." he whispered, gently running his hands through the brunette's hair.

Nothing was going to take him away from his Tubbo.
