One Moment Can Change Everything (SBI) (3/4)

Techno POV

He looked so lifeless. It was hard to believe that this was the same child that had been kicking his chair in complete boredom only an hour prior. He shook his head, tightening his grip on the boy's limp hand. Tommy would be laughing at him, making fun of the tears that fell down his cheeks. And for once he wanted it. He wanted Tommy to jump up and laugh at him. He just wanted to hear his laugh again.

How could someone so full of life lay so lifeless?

"Please don't take him from me. Please don't take my Tommy." he whispered, his voice breaking. How could one moment change everything? 

Vibrating came from his pocket, forcing him to tear his eyes away from Tommy. He reluctantly slipped the phone out of his pocket, answering the call. 

"Hello?"

"Hey Tech." Phil's tired voice played into his ear, mirroring how tired the pinkette felt.

A thought crossed Techno's mind, sending him into panic. What if he was calling about Wilbur? What if he lost two brothers in the same day? What if he never saw Wil again? "How's Wil? Is he okay?" Techno quickly asked, glancing towards Tommy.

"He's fine." the man reassured. "Just a few injuries and a concussion, he should recover quickly. Once he has a cast, we're going to head up to Tommy's room. Wilbur is a wreck knowing Tommy's hurt and he isn't with him." he paused, seemingly thinking for a moment. "How is he?"

Techno took a deep breath, hating the hesitation. "I-I don't know. He still isn't awake."

"Have the doctors said anything?" 

"No." the teen glanced towards the door for what felt like the millionth time. His voice broke, "Phil, wh-what if we lose him?"

Phil was silent for a moment as if he were unsure whether to be honest or truthful. "Just stay strong Techno. I'll be there soon." The call ended, leaving Techno into a horrible silence.

He turned back to Tommy, a sigh leaving his lips.

"I'll stay strong... for you Tommy."
