Tommy POV
Tommy's eyes widened at the sight of the stranger. He was the oddest looking customer he had ever seen. Long, pink hair was tied back in a low ponytail. Red eyes with so much confidence, it was scary. Even the way he dressed was strange.
Tommy gulped, attempting to stand straighter. He didn't want to look as intimidated as he felt, but he knew it was already too late for that. "W-Welcome." he said cheerfully, cursing under his breath at his stutter. Taking a deep breath, he offered, "Is there something I can help you find?" Be polite, not annoying, he reminded himself. He couldn't afford anymore customers.
The figure looked down at him, studying the blonde with a puzzled expression. "Aren't you a little young to be running this place all by yourself?"
Tommy felt himself stiffen at his words. "I'm nearly fifteen you bi-" he stopped himself, biting his tongue. He could practically hear Laura shouting from the back room. She never was one for swearing. "Sir..." he spoke more quietly. Biting his lip, he knew he had probably scared the customer away. Just like the last one. But to his surprise, he heard a chuckle.
"Fifteen is still young kid." he smirked, an amused look on his face.
"I am not a kid." Tommy muttered under his breath, hoping the man hadn't heard him.
"What should I call you then?"
The blonde hesitated, unsure if he should actually share his name.
The stranger seemed to sense his discomfort. Quickly he offered his own name as a start. "My name's Techno."
Tommy couldn't help but giggle at the name. Immediately he covered his mouth, knowing that laughing was rude. Shrinking back in on himself, he spared a glance at the older. His eyes widened at the sight of an amused smile.
"You're alright to laugh, Theseus."
The blonde perked up at the nickname, looking up at him curiously. "Theseus?" he whispered, his smile widening.
"You remind me a lot of a Theseus." Techno explained fondly. Suddenly he looked nervous and for a moment Tommy saw past the confident stranger. The pinkette looking at him uncertainly, asking, "If you don't mind me calling you that, of course."
"You... you're not going to walk out after I was so rude?" Tommy looked up at him in surprise. He was amazed that the pinkette was even still standing in front of him. Most people would have been out the door at the first giggle.
"Rude?" Techno scoffed at the silly idea. "You're just being a kid, there's nothing wrong with that." Techno walked past him, leaving Tommy watching after the pinkette. What Tommy didn't see was the sadness that lingered in his eyes. Techno tried to blink it away and just pretend he didn't care, like he usually did. But he couldn't.
And he couldn't understand why.
"So... what are you looking for?" Tommy asked, a bright smile on his face as he shadowed after him.
"Mythology," he paused, "More specifically Greek mythology."
Tommy grinned, "Follow me! We have an entire section of mythology!" He lead a startled Techno towards the shelves near the back, where Laura's most prized books were. She had always had an intriguing interest in mythology. Which of course, fueled Tommy's interest as well.
"Wow." Techno breathed, surprised at the amount that filled the shelf. He found himself reaching out to touch the spines of the books. "I've never seen such a big selection..."
"Greek mythology was always her favorite." Tommy whispered, leaving Techno to wonder if he had heard the blonde right. "I'll leave you to browse." the blonde quickly exclaimed, hoping to avoid any further questions.
The teen headed to the back, taking a deep breath.

Techno POV
Techno couldn't help but glance at the spot where Theseus had just been. Who was he talking about? Why was he running this place all by himself? Surely he had parents, a life away from this little shop. But what if he didn't?
Shaking his head, Techno began to search through the books. They were old and filled with so much history. He couldn't help but look through then with a smile. Thinking back to past few weeks, he couldn't think of the last time he had been this excited about these books. Finally he could read what he wanted, not some old, boring textbook.
Selecting a couple books he had never heard of before, he headed towards the front of the shop, hoping to find a good place to read. He found himself wanting to stay for a while. Perhaps if he could, he would stay forever. A part of him never wanted to leave Theseus.
He knew that wasn't his name. But he also knew that the kid wasn't comfortable enough to share his name. And Techno would never force him to be uncomfortable. Instead, he wanted the trust to be earned with the name.
Sitting down on one of the couches, he picked one of the books up. He had only turned to the first page when he heard the shuffling of footsteps. He managed to look up briefly, only to watch as Theseus tumbled to the ground. Techno watched in amazement as the boy caught the plate in his hand, saving the treat from certain death.
"Careful Theseus." he murmured, watching as the boy stood up and dusted himself off.
The boy seemed to brighten at the nickname. "I bought you a pastry." he exclaimed with a sudden excitement, acting as though he had never given one before. Or maybe it was just because no one had ever bothered to buy one before. "I would have brought you the fresh muffins made.... but uh... let's just say they're a little crispy."
Techno laughed, accepting the plate with a smile. "Thanks, Theseus," he said, making sure to say the blonde's nickname just to see his smile again. He leaned forward, ruffling his golden looks, earning a laugh. "How much?"
The blonde shook his head, "No, it's just a gift. You're spending enough on the books."
Techno rolled his eyes, slipping his hand into his pocket and pulling his wallet out. Taking out a few dollars, he offered it to the kid. "Take it. You need it."
"Techno..." he began, shifting from foot to foot.
"Theseussss." Techno held out the "s", smirking. He held his hand out, refusing to put it down.
The blonde bit his lip, looking up at him. "Are you sure?"
The pinkette nodded, relief spreading through his veins as Theseus finally took the money.
"Thank you." he smiled gratefully. The blonde paused, seemingly having an internal conflict. Taking a deep breath, he locked eyes with Techno. "My name is Tommy."
"Tommy." Techno repeated, speaking the name aloud. Tommy sighed, looking down at his shoes. Sensing a change in his mood, he pushed, "What's wrong?"
The blonde hesitated before speaking. "Can you still call me Theseus?"
Techno grinned, "Of course." He ruffled the boy's hair, not missing the way he leaned into the touch. He was about to speak again when a sound interrupted him.
The sound of a bell.
There was the creak of a door and then someone else stepped in.
This time with a guitar on his back.
