Techno POV

Beep...

Beep...

Beep...

The sound the family had grown to hate more and more with every second that passed. Why hadn't he woken up?

Techno refused to leave Tommy's side except to run to the bathroom, but even then it only took a few minutes. He just couldn't bear the idea of Tommy waking up all alone.

"Techno you should rest. It's been nearly a week... and you look awful mate." Phil studied him, clearly noting the dark bags that hung under his eyes.

Immediately the pinkette shook his head, responding. "I won't leave Tommy." he took the blonde's hand, squeezing it gently as if to reassure himself that Tommy was still in there.

"Wilbur and I will look after him-" Phil began.

"No."

"Techno..." this time it was Wilbur who spoke, worry sparking his eyes.

"I'm not going anywhere."

------------

"Family of Tommy?" a doctor entered the room, a clipboard in his hands. There was an uncertainty about him, like he wasn't sure how to break the news.

"Yes?" the family turned to him, fear and hope mixed in their eyes.

The man sighed, putting his clipboard aside. "I have news..." he began, watching their faces carefully. Keeping his face sympathetic, he spoke. "Tommy most likely won't survive this."

Techno felt the air leave his lungs as the words were spoken. No... His biggest nightmare was coming true. Instantly he snapped towards the man, desperation taking over. "What?! No! You said he was getting better! You said-"

The doctor's head hung low as he thought his words out carefully. "I know. And it looked like he was going to... but his pulse has been slowly declining over the hours." he shook his head, sorrow filling his features. "Wounds to the stomach are often fatal."

"Does he even have a chance?" Wilbur spoke, biting his lip as the tears began to fall.

The man glanced towards the crying teen, choosing honesty in that moment. "He only has a 17% chance of survival. I'm afraid that I recommend-"

"We aren't letting him go. Any chance that he could survive is a chance we're going to take." Techno's voice shook as he glared at the man.

"It will be very painful and we still aren't sure how his brain was affected-" he began, a little shocked at Techno's words.

"Well you're a doctor. Figure it out!" the pinkette snapped.

A sigh escaped the man's lips. "I'll give you more time to think it over." Glancing at the family once more, he left the room, leaving them to their own thoughts.

"We won't be changing our minds!" Techno shouted after him.

------------

"Techno..."

"I'm not losing him. Not now. Not ever." Techno shook his head firmly, hating how cold Tommy's hand was. He couldn't lose him. He just couldn't.

"His brain isn't sending any signals... they think he may be brain dead..." Phil's voice trailed off, a look of sorrow falling over his face.

"No he's not! I won't give up on him!" the pinkette shouted, ignoring the tears that ran down his face. He wasn't going to give up on him. He couldn't.

"Techno..." the voices echoed around him, sending a shiver down his spine.

He looked around for a moment, trying to decipher where they were coming from. What was happening? He whipped back to the bed, his heart stopping when he realized Tommy was gone. He stood up in a panic, feeling the sweat drip down his neck.

"Where-"

"He's gone Techno! He's gone and it's all your fault!" Phil sobbed beside him.

"No..." this couldn't be happening.

"Techno!" a voice cut through his thoughts.

Tommy?

"Tech!"

Techno woke up, breathing heavily. He looked around, trying to figure out what was happening. Where was he? Where was-

"Techno it's okay! It's just a dream." Tommy grabbed his hand, worry coating his features. Those eyes, God Techno thought he would never see them again.

"Oh God, I thought-" he began, tears in his eyes.

"I know." The blonde offered a smile, bringing the older into a hug. Techno held him tightly, never wanting to let him go again. The pinkette cried into the boy's hospital gown, overjoyed that Tommy was alive. Tommy held him close before finally pulling back. He chuckled, smirking, "Big man, you look like death."

Techno rolled his eyes, looking around the room. "Where's-"

"They went to go get food." Tommy explained, yawning. "We figured you could use the sleep." Tommy moved to the edge of the bed, patting the nearly made spot next to him. "Looks like you still could."

Techno hesitated, biting his lip. He didn't want to hurt Tommy. "What if-"

"Oh my God Techno I'm fine."

Techno sighed in defeat before climbing into the bed. Tommy scooted closer to him, a smile on his face. The pinkette held him closely, making sure to be gentle. "You're really here." he whispered, burying his face in the boy's messy hair.

"I won't leave you Techno, I promise." Tommy murmured, yawning once more. He buried his face in Techno's shirt, allowing sleep to take him.

"I love you Toms." Techno muttered, pressing a kiss to the blonde's forehead. Closing his eyes, he listened to the boy's breathing. Tommy was okay, that's all that mattered.

Footsteps suddenly entered the room, accompanied by chuckles.

"Looks like Techno's going soft." Wilbur's voice was clear.

And for once Techno didn't reply. Instead he allowed sleep to take him, holding his Tommy close.

All that mattered was that his Tommy was okay.
