Tommy POV
Tommy had never grabbed his phone so quickly in his life. He unlocked it, swiftly opening the message.
"Are you around to call?"
Tommy took a deep breath before dialing Wilbur's number. It had been a long time since he had even tried. He had given up so long ago once it became apparent that he was never going to pick up. But this time... maybe this time he would.
"Tommy?"
Tommy felt the tears begin to form at his brother's voice. He nearly started sobbing at the thought of his brother not actually hating him.
"Wil-l?" he stammered, trying so hard to keep his voice as even as possible.
"Oh my god Tommy!" Wilbur exclaimed, clearly just as emotional as Tommy. "I'm so sorry, for everything. I should have called you, I should have answered... A-Are you okay?"
Tommy bit his lip, wanting nothing more than to rip his heart open for his brother to see. To see all the pain that he had been through in the past years. "Y-yeah, I'm okay Wil."
Wilbur inhaled slightly, but surprisingly didn't press. "Toms I want you to come home."
Tommy felt himself smile at the words. "I would love to... but Wilbur I have no money. How can I possibly afford-"
"I'll pay for it." Wilbur cut him off, stopping him from rambling on.
"What? Wilbur that's-"
"I don't care how much it will cost. It's worth it to see you."
Tommy looked down, trying to stop himself from bursting into tears. It felt so good for his brother to want him, really for anyone to want him. It was something he had been craving for so long. "Are you sure?" he whispered, hoping he wasn't just hearing things.
"Of course I'm sure Toms." Wilbur confirmed, much to Tommy's relief.
"Then I'm coming home."
----------
Tommy was sure he would never miss that apartment. Not one part of it. All it reminded him of was mental breakdowns and stressful nights. He never wanted to think of all that loneliness ever again.
Even as he got on the plane he smiled, with relief and happiness. He was going to see them again. The people he had missed for so long. His family.
He would listen to Wilbur's music again. He would have those late night talks again. He would finally have someone to look for for advice again. He would have Wilbur.
He would feel Phil's hugs again. He would get to annoy him again, god how he missed that chaos. He would finally have that protection he had wanted for so long. He would have Phil.
He would fence with Techno again. He would listen to all his tales of Greek mythology. Even though he didn't understand them, he still loved listening to them. He would have someone to admire once more. He would have Techno.
The excitement he felt getting off the plane was something he couldn't even describe. It was the best feeling he had had since he left.
He walked into the airport, scanning the crowd for familiar faces. His heart nearly stopped the moment he saw him.
Curly brunette hair. A beanie, yellow sweater. Sweet chocolate colored eyes. It was Wilbur.
Without a moment of hesitation Tommy dropped his bags, racing towards his brother. Wilbur rushed towards him, a bright smile on his face. As soon as Wilbur reached him, he picked him up, spinning him around before pulling him close.
"Tommy! Oh god, I missed you so much Toms." Wilbur whispered, burying his face in Tommy's golden hair.
Tommy inhaled his homey scent, hugging him as tightly as he possibly could. "I missed you more." he murmured, closing his eyes.
Suddenly another voice appeared, one Tommy knew well.
"Tommy?!"
Tommy's head snapped towards the voice, releasing his grip on Wilbur.
Long pink braided hair. The same old crown, the same red cape. Protective red eyes. It was Techno.
Tommy took off towards the eldest, just as Techno began running towards him. As soon as Tommy came close enough, Techno grabbed him, holding him as close as possible. "Tommy, oh Tommy. Is it really you?"
The blonde smiled brightly, nodding. "It's me Tech, it's me."
Techno began running his fingers through Tommy's hair, a habit he had always had. He pushed Tommy's head closer to his chest, protecting him from all sides. Tommy closed his eyes, enjoying the safety his embrace supplied.
The moment was short lived as Tommy felt himself suddenly being pulled into another pair of arms. He was scared for a moment before he realized he knew these arms.
Messy blonde hair. Long, dark green robes, white and green striped hat. Caring blue eyes. It was Phil.
Immediately he began whispered apologies in the boy's ear, tearing up as he did so. "I'm so sorry Tommy. You must have felt so alone. I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you! I was a horrible father-"
"It's okay Dad." Tommy offered him a forgiving smile. He knew how busy life could get. All that mattered to him was that he was home now.
The three of them took the blonde home, continuing to apologize all the way. Tommy forgave them for everything. Finally he felt like he belonged, safe with his family.
Tommy never wanted to leave again.
