109: The Guy with Memory Fatigue

The next day...

I awoke with the morning sun and stretched. Today was a nice day! And all I was going to do was rest? I crossed my arms and grew moody.

You're pissed. Egg noted as she stuck her helm out of her hatch.

"No."

Yea. She argued.

"Well, maybe I am." I grumbled.

Why?

"I don't want to stay put here and rest all day!" I complained.

Well, I'm not stopping you from getting up. She snorted and went back to bed, Besides, it's like 11 in the morning, I think you recharged long enough. She added.

So I jumped up and poured the chickens a drink while I ignored the pounding of my spark, "If I'm not back by the end of the day-"

You'll be in the medbay, I know. Egg finished as I left my berthroom, I walked right into Megatron.

"Oh, you're not on the floor." He stated.

"Why would I be on the floor?" I asked.

"I can't feel you through the sparkbond so you just had a spark-failure." He explained.

"A weak one- And you came to check on me?"

He nodded.

"Because you care?" I teased.

He glared at me, "Do you know why you're having so many spark-failures?" He asked.

"Nope." I lied, "I'm gonna go for a stroll."

"Take it slow then, and watch where you're going, you've walked into me a dozen times." He grumbled and walked off.

I made it all the way to the energon storage, without a spark-failure and snagged some regular energon, I turned to leave but some collapsing energon cubes stopped me. I turned around, someone had knocked them over.

"Oops."

"SHHHHHH."

I raised a ridge and looked around a stack of them, I spotted Alpha Trion.

"Oh god, we're gonna die." I looked down and spotted Miko.

"Why?" Trion asked her.

"Oh never mind, that's not Megatron." Miko said.

"Who's that?"

"What in the pits are you dong here?!?" I instantly panicked and prayed to Primus my spark kept stable.

"He has some memory problems every now and then." Miko explained, "And the only thing he remembers at the moment are the fricken chickens."

"Oh." I said, "So you snuck on the ship to find them?"

"Yup." He said, "Would you know where they are?"

"Yea, umm." Maybe I could sneak him to my berthroom, barely anyone goes in there, "Follow me." I started as Miko looked at me as if I were crazy.

"If you're going to get him killed-"

"Look, Miko, I may not be a rocket scientist-" I paused, no, I kind of am, "Point is, I'm dumb, but not that dumb."

She shrugged as I picked her up and opened my chassis for her, "Ah?"

"You expect to keep up with us? And you would be hidden here."

"Fine, fine." She grumbled and climbed in.

I turned to Alphy, "Ok, so the chickens, they're fast." I started, he nodded in agreement, "So to catch them, we need to be fast too, so we gotta run really fast to get 'em." I said. Trion nodded with determination. "Okay follow me." I said and we started sprinting through the hallways, myself praying to Primus no one was watching.

We made it to my berthroom, myself venting heavily, I'm so unfit. In my defence, I'm carrying and I have a dead spark.

"That was bumpy." Miko complained as I let her out.

Huh? Egg stuck her helm out, her optic ridges shot to the sky.

"Ah!" Alpha Trion let out a joyous grin as the chickens stuck their helms out, they waddled over to him excitedly.

Alright, what happened? Egg asked, trying to sound aggressive while getting a massage.

"He's got a bit of a memory problem." I said and we watched them play for a bit... Around half and hour.

"I'm just gonna call the Autobots." I said as their playdate had already dragged on for too long, then I was interrupted by a knock on my door. I rushed to it and slipped out, without letting the others be seen. "Walk and talk?" I asked Megatron, who couldn't seem to leave me alone.

"Um okay?" He said and we started walking.

"So what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked, sarcastically.

"Umm..." He started awkwardly, "What kind of relationship do you have with Optimus?" He asked, I swear I almost had a seizure.

"Where is this coming from?" I asked.

"I was just walking down on Earth, taking a break and he just hugged me from behind." Megatron said, he seemed to be in shock, so was I.

"He-"

"Hugged me, yes." He was purely uncomfortable.

Optimus just hugged Megatron. I told Egg without hesitation.

What the fuck.

Maybe he mistook him for you, I mean, your basically identical. Egg suggested, Hold on, Miko wants my attention.

"Egg says-"

"You just asked your chicken about this?" He asked.

"Yes, she says that maybe he mistook you for me." I shrugged.

"Which is what I was thinking, but why would he hug you?" He asked, trying his best to stay calm so I wouldn't have a seizure.

"But then again, maybe he hugged you because he wanted to hug you." I suggested.

"We never hugged, even before the war."

"Well..."

"One time, and I was drunk." Meg cut me off, I crossed my arms disbelievingly, "Maybe a few times." He cracked. "But he obviously mistook me as you-"

"What makes you say that?"

"I turned around and he seemed to be on the brink of stasis lock."

"Then what?"

"I tried to kill him, what else?" He asked, "What kind of relationship do you have with him?"

"The kind of one where you don't try and kill him on sight?" I suggested, he glared disbelievingly, "How'd his hug feel?" I asked.

"Genuine."

"Oh, that's nice."

"And it was meant for you." He crossed his arms.

"Oh, why are you asking me this stuff, you know the answer."

"So you're friends?" He asked.

Not just that, "Yup." I said.

Meg was taken aback, "We are revisiting this conversation when your spark is more stable."

"Yup." I agreed as he headed off, maybe to his stash of high grade.
