   Y/N'S POV

At 4 o'clock in the morning, I was woken up by someone getting into the bed with me. Immediately, I turned around and let out a sigh of relief when Clark awkwardly waved at me.
Clark then wrapped his arms around me, but I noticed that he was still in his Superman suit. I didn't want to tell him what to do with his suit, but I knew that it couldn't have been too comfortable to sleep in.

I just asked him,"What brings you here, Kansas, at four o'clock in the morning?"

Clark said,"I just wanted to see you."

I tried to read Clark, but I couldn't read him at all. I did get the sense that something was up, though, but I didn't think that it would be best to try to push that something out of him at four o'clock in the morning.

  I nodded and said,"Well, I'm here!"

Clark laughed and smiled at me, but his smile only lasted for a couple of seconds.

I frowned and rested my hand on Clark's face saying to him,"I love you."

Clark kissed my forehead and said to me,"I love you, too. What's wrong?"

I said to him as I stroked his cheek,"You tell me. You're still in your suit. I'm not judging you, Kansas, but I know that you don't wear your suit to bed every single night. Also, it's not often that you come to see me at four o'clock in the morning, so I'm a little worried about you."

Clark closed his eyes and said,"I don't want to talk about it, Y/N. I just want to be here with you."

  I nodded and said,"I understand."

Two minutes later, Clark was already asleep, but I couldn't go back to sleep.

  Why was Clark here?

Did he have a fight with someone?

Did he lose someone that was very important to him?

I had to know what was up, so that I could help him.

However, I didn't know if Clark would tell me anything any time soon.

   LATER THAT MORNING...

Since I wasn't able to go back to sleep, I just kept myself busy by doing a few things around the house. I was going to reach out to some of Clark's closest superhero friends, too, but Clark would've just ended up hearing everything.

When Clark finally woke up, he asked me,"Sweetheart, why did you leave me?"

I walked up to Clark and cupped his face saying,"Oh, Superman, I'm so sorry. I just couldn't sleep, that's all. I didn't mean to leave you."

Clark wrapped his hands around my wrists to keep me from moving my hands from his face.

  I asked Clark,"What happened, Kansas?"

Clark let go of my wrists and said,"I'm sorry, Y/N. Nothing happened."

I kept Clark from walking away from me and rested one of my hands over his heart saying to him,"Honey, something happened. Something happened."

Clark rested his hand over my hand, and tears formed in Clark's eyes.

He said,"It was an accident, Y/N. It's all my fault."

I shushed Clark and asked him,"What was an accident? What happened, Clark?"

As Clark's tears fell down his face, he admitted to me,"Because of me, a woman and her child are dead. I should've just gotten to them in-time, but I didn't. I didn't, Y/N."

I didn't know what the right thing or the wrong thing was to say to Clark right now, but I just asked him,"May I hug you, Clark?"

Clark nodded, before I moved my hand from over his heart and hugged him tightly. Clark hugged me back and buried his face in my neck.

I told him,"It'll be all right, Clark. I'll do whatever it takes to help you get through this. I promise."

Honestly, I didn't even know what I was supposed to do next, but I'd figure it out. I had to figure it out, for his sake and my own.
