"Now, what are two fine ladies like yourself doing our here, all alone?." I asked them, holding the half smoked joint in one hand whilst the other sat on my hip.

They looked up to me in harmony and smiled.

"Just talking about Steve and Barb." Kathleen answered for them, standing up and brushing her skirt off.

"He was nice to you before, right?" I asked Nancy, referring to the beginning of the night when he asked to speak to her.

"Oh, yeah. He was sweet." She replied, not one for sharing many details.

"Okay well I was going to ask you guys to dance but because it took me so long to find you's, I think the song will probably be over by now." I explained to them as Kathleen sighed.

"But I love dancing with you." She whined like a child.

"Well too fucking bad, shouldn't have disappeared when I needed you the most." I said with a sarcastic smile, grabbing a hold of her hand and nodding my head for Nancy to follow. I took a few more drags of the joint before passing it back to Davidson on the way back into the house.

"Nice one, Cassidy!" He yelled to me as I entered into the very back of my living room where the back door was placed.

"Fuck! This is my favourite song!" I exclaimed and laughed, pulling Kathleen to the centre of the house where I had originally called out to find her, hearing Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' playing over the loud noise of teenagers.

"LISTEN TO THE WIND BLOW, WATCH THE SUN RISE" both me and Kathleen sang in sync, swaying our hips against one another as it played.

"RUN IN THE SHADOWS, DAMN YOUR LOVE DAMN YOUR LIES" we carried on.

There was absolutely nothing more I loved in this world than this song, which disappointed me because it wasn't by Bon Jovie who was my top favourite artist of all time. I couldn't explain why, but there was something about his stuff that really got me in my feels.

I span Kathleen around as we waited for the chorus to chime in, knowing it was the second best part; the first being the guitar solo..which I may or may not have learned to play.

"Oh, here it comes!" I squealed, really feeling the drugs and alcohol starting to kick in. My vision was almost completely blurred as I felt the blood in my veins on fire, burning it's way around my body.

"AND IF YOU DONT LOVE ME NOW, THE YOU'LL NEVER LOVE ME AGAIN..I CAN STILL HEAR YOU SAYING YOU WOULD NEVER BREAK THE CHAINS" I poured my whole heart and soul into the vocals, enjoying every living second in that moment.

People began to gather round and dance, also singing along with us but with less enthusiasm.

I held Kathleen, head banging as we sang to one another, watching her eyes smile into mine with joy. I loved her a lot, and she meant the most to me in the world which is why it hurt so much that in only 3 or 4 months time it would be over for us, and she would leave Hawkins and study to be a marine biologist at the university of Alaska, thousands of miles away from me.

"Do your air guitar!!" She shouted at me, nodding her head with excitement. I sighed, knowing I was going to do it either way so I may as well put on a show.
