The weather was sunny as Hawkins stood still for the girl who lost her life a week ago, the same girl that had been stuck with tubes for almost six months without the possibility of surviving, but her family didn't want to give up. The couldn't because the second the did, it meant that she was gone for good and they didn't want to ever feel that type of pain.

No one should ever know what it's like to lose a loved one to murder; especially not a child murderer.

They hushed as her father took the stand and weeped for his loss, reading what he had wrote for his only girl. Her friends cried at his words, knowing soon after it would be their turn to say goodbye to their beloved friend who was taken away from them too soon.

"My pumpkin, my only daughter." Hacker started. "You was only with us for 19 years, and that wasn't long enough. It's unfair and unkind what happened to you in your life and as a father, I never thought I would be stood here for any of my children..especially not you." He sniffled away the gooey liquid travelling through his nostrils. "As your father, I should've been there to protect you, to reassure you that you would be okay and that not a single bad thing would ever happen to you, my little girl. I should've been the one you came to when you had a break up, or if you fell out with a friend. Which you did, especially when it came to Steve." He made a joke, listening to the large crowd of people laugh as Steve shook his head and smiled over to the older man. "As your father, I shouldn't ever have to stand here and tell the world that my own wife..your mother, took you away from us without a single regret for her actions. This angers me more than anything I've ever gotten angry over, like the time David tried to hang you out of the window by your foot and Jon beat him for it." Another round of laughter escaped the hordes mouths.

"You were an amazing sister to your brothers, especially Andrew and Michael. They adored you more than you'll ever know, and one day when they're old enough, I'll be sure to tell them that they had the best big sister they could've asked for. I'll make sure they know you, and what your dreams were, who your favourite music artist was and how much you loved your friends. They'll know every single one of them and they'll love them all, because you loved them. So from the bottom of my heart, my little pumpkin.." he stopped and wiped away his tears as he cried for his loss. "I am so sorry I couldn't save you from the tragedy of your heartless mother, and I'll never forget how happy you made me. I'll never forget you, pumpkin. I love you, forever." Hacked folded the piece of paper he had used to speak from and stood down from the podium, embracing his sons with open arms as they all shared this moment of grief.

After Kimberly's father stood down, the priest took his place to announce who would take his current place for their final goodbyes.

"Those were the kind words of Kimberly's father, Harold Cassidy. Thankyou." He turned to the man who was sat besides his four sons. "Next, one of Kimberly's closest friends would like to say a few words." He nodded to Steve who was followed to the podium by Dustin, Robin and Sandra Harrington.

"Hi." He greeted the crowd nervously. "I never thought I'd ever be here, standing infront of the full town to say goodbye to the only girl I think I've ever loved." He chuckled and sniffled. "Kimberly was a strong energy, that we all know." He made a slight joke, earning a good reaction. "The first day we met, she came straight over to me with a girl I had never seen before, but who's like a sister to me now-." He looked down at Kathleen who was being hugged by her mother. "-And she was so confident that we were going to be friends. She saw through my high school demeanour and knew that I wasn't all I made out to be. I don't think I've ever made a better decision in my entire life." He paused, swallowing the lump at the back of his throat. "We would drink ourself blind on the weekends and fight over stupid little things, but we always knew that we were right there for each other, and it's a shame I can't hold her close anymore and tell her how much I'm hurting. I can't call her at night and tell her that I've met a girl who I think could be the one." Steve dragged his lip in between his teeth. "I can't complain about how much I hate how Eddie teases me for it." Eddie sniggered by the side of his uncle at Steve's words. "And she'll never know that me and Eddie are closer than we've ever been, after everything we put her through with our arguing... but I know she'd be so relieved to hear the words 'I actually like him.'" Steve chuckled at his own words.
