You know what I find funny about love? It's the things you'd do for it, the reasons you would do those things for love. It was like a drug that addicted you in both the wrong and right ways, a drug so powerful you'd give up your own life just to see that smile on their face.
What they don't tell you about love, is that it can make you blind and it can make you do and say silly things you would've never dreamt of saying to them..especially if you're completely different.
Me and Eddie had never argued whilst in a relationship, and I thought that was a good thing, but turns out we both had secrets we didn't want to share, and this made us clash.
I had promised Steve I would pop over and see him today, and I intended to keep that promise. Eddie however, had other intentions.
"Where are you going?" Eddie's voice was husky as he asked, rubbing his eyes to adjust to the morning sun shining through his bedroom window.
"Over to Steve's. We have some things to talk about." I replied in a mumble as I pulled my jeans up over my legs.
"It's 9 in the morning, princess..can't it wait?" He asked me, sitting up and watching me get dressed.
"I have other things I want to do today. I was hoping to go over to Kathleen's after, to check on her." I finished pulling my black pink Floyd band tee over my head, tucking it in the back of my mum cut jeans and letting it flow over my stomach, covering it.
"She's fine, Kimberly. You don't need to pest her, she won't die." He grumbled, falling back against his mattress and hiding his face with his arms.
"I'm not pestering her, she's my best friend..am I not allowed to see my best friend or something?" I asked a little annoyed, watching him as I tied my shoe laces.
"I didn't say that." He replied blankly.
"Why are you so bothered, anyway?" I stood up and watched him. He removed his arms and sighed, staring at me expressionless.
"I don't care about you going to Kathleen's, I care that you're giving douchebag Harrington yet another chance." He shrugged and closed his eyes.
"He didn't do anything wrong." I defended Steve from Eddie's harsh views on the boy.
He snorted. "That's funny." He said.
"Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed today." I joked with a dry laugh. He sat up, pulling the blanket off of himself and stormed his way into the bathroom, out in the hallway. "Eddie, it was a joke." I started before he slammed the bathroom door in my face. "Okay, seriously..what the fuck is wrong with you today?" I asked from his bedroom door, listening to the tap turn on.
"You just can't make decisions for yourself, can you?" His voice was louder and I could hear the anger rising. "I mean, Steve breaks your heart every week and you go running back to him because you're scared you'll have nobody without him." The door swung open and he scoffed, walking back into the bedroom. "It's your fucking life and you're letting some dick make all your decisions for you purely based off of fake loyalty."
"Fake loyalty?" I asked in astonishment.
"Yes! You're all so fake it's unreal! Tommy and Carol couldn't give two fucks about anybody but themselves, Nancy Wheeler is supposed to be nice yet she's become the biggest bitch out of you all, Steve Harrington is an ass wipe..and you." He stopped and paused, sighing deeply as he pointed at me with his hand. "You wear this mask so nobody can tell who you really are. You don't let people get too close to you so they don't realise how dangerous you are. You could cut somebody off like that and not give a care in the world." He snapped his fingers. "It's an act, Kimberly. You'd care so much that you'd go running back because that's who you are, you forgive and you forget like it doesn't affect you in the slightest." The room was silent now as we stood across from in each other in Eddie's bedroom.
