"In our history, we've come across many things.." our history teach spoke to the class as he lectured something incredibly boring. I leant my elbow onto the table with a sigh as I listened to his voice droning on.

I only had 3 weeks left of this boring show, and I had way too much on my mind to give a shit about whether America won a war or whatever he was talking about.

My mum would be giving birth in a few months and the beginning of my life was about to start. Nothing but babysitting and doing my parents job for them. I wouldn't be attending school as much because of it and it had been on my mind for a while.

I needed school in order to get into an even better college, and I really wanted to start my own career as a midwife. It was a weird carer some would say but the birth process of bringing a new human into the world settled nicely with me. Helping women over come one of their worse fears is what I always wanted to do, with thanks to my Auntie Lin.

"Kimberly." He said my name, pulling me from my thoughts. My body jolted slightly and I sat up straight, looking around the class to see everybody staring at me.

"Mhm?" I mumbled, staring at him as I waited.

"Do you know How long ago historians estimated the first settlers to arrive on what is now American soil?" He asked with his arms crossed, obviously knowing I hadn't been paying attention.

"Well first, I'm British so probably not a question to be asking me-"

"Christian is also British yet he knows the answer." He interrupted me with his eyes squinted cockily.

Of fucking course he does.

"If you had let me finish, I was going to then tell you I do know the answer because it's the only thing we've learnt for the past 6 months." I copied his actions and crossed my arms over my chest. "It was like, 12,000 years ago or something and it's believed that they came from somewhere between Asia and Alaska." I nodded cockily, listening to the class snicker at the teacher, disappointed in himself.

"Pay attention." Was all he said, turning back to the board and beginning to write something. I rolled my eyes and threw my head back over my chair in annoyance.

A few minutes later I felt something hit my arm and lifted my head to see what it was. My eyes scanned the table and saw a sheet of scrunched paper sitting besides me. I knew who it was from, because it was a common occurrence. I smiled and held it on my lap as I read it discreetly.

"Did you do the biology homework?" Was scribbled onto the paper in Eddie's handwriting. I smirked and clicked the lid off of my pen to reply.

"Yes. Did you?" I wrote back, scrunching the note into a ball and waiting for an opportunity to throw it back. When I did, I watched Eddie from the corner of my eye writing down rapidly before the ball landed on the floor besides my foot. I picked it up and opened it.

"Can I copy yours?" He asked in ink. It was so obvious he hadn't done it because he never does. I giggled in the back of my throat and began my reply.

"Give me a good enough reason why you didn't do it and I will." I rolled the paper over to him on the floor, going back to the task set for us on what ancient Americans had done hundreds and thousands of years ago.

"I found a cat and adopted it and he ate it." I almost burst out laughing at him, understanding exactly why I was more than in love with this boy. I shook my head and wrote down my reply.
