"No I did not!" Kathleen's voice erupted louder than half of the party as Steve accused her of having a crush on him in 8th grade, way before I met them.

Steve snorted at her reaction and tickled her sides before pulling her into his body from besides the counter of the bathroom where I leant down and let the powder travel through my nose, pinching the end of it and sniffing up hard to make sure it was all gone.

"Right! Kathleen, your turn." I moved out of the way and let my hand point down to the already made line for her to take. Her mouth gaped a little but closed just as quick, finding courage and walking over to it.

Steve snorted, making her look back at him with embarrassment. "You didn't think we would actually let you do this, right?" He asked her once her eyes met his. She turned to look at me, speechless.

"You only take it if you want to, not because we are." I explained, knowing she was too innocent and pure to say no when peer pressured.

"No. I want to." She nodded sternly, her lips thin as she looked around at the four of us. Dorothy held her hand in the air and high fived Kathleen with a loud 'wooo!'.

"Are you sure?" I asked her one last time, not wanting her to feel like she had to do this. She hummed and grabbed the rolled up dollar from the cabinet top, bending over and doing as all four of us had previously done. "Okay now, pinch your nose." She did as I told. "And sniff it up until it feels clear." I carried on.

She closed her eyes as she listened to my commands before opening them and smiling. "That wasn't so bad!." She squealed to us, turning to Steve with a bright smile on her face. He shook his head as she patted him on his open chest and walked past him out of the bathroom. She stopped at the door to look at us as we stared at her in shock. "Well come on! We have a party to attend to." She put up a peace sign with her fingers as we followed her. "Eddie!" I heard her squeal as I exited the bathroom.

"I think that was a bad idea." Steve muttered from besides me, looking down and connecting his worrisome eyes with my own.

"I guess we'll see." I muttered back, following him down the hallway and out into the main part of the trailer. Kathleen was dancing with Eddie as people scattered about minding their own business.

"Is she..usually..like this?" Dorothy asked from over my shoulder. I shook my head no and turned half heartily so my eyes were still facing Eddie and Kathleen.

"Never." My tone was worried but I realised I wasn't her mother, which meant she could do whatever she wanted, but I would be there for her if something were to happen so her experience wouldn't be as bad as my first time.

"Kimmy! Come over here!" She yelled in a high pitched tone, obviously either too drunk or the effects of that coke were kicking in a lot faster than I had hoped for. I smiled falsely at her and strolled over to where she had her arms hung around Eddie's neck who looked like he did not want to be in this situation any longer. "Tell Eddie to dance with me." She fake pouted.

"I don't wanna-" he started, but was rudely interrupted by my best friend.

"Ohhh come on! Stop being such a party pooper and dance with me!" She whined and unlinked her arms from around his neck, slithering them around his waist instead and leaning her head on his chest as to how small she was.
