"SUSPENDED?!" my mother screamed from the lounge with both of the boys as I walked through the front door. I sighed deeply and threw my jacket onto the ball of the banister. "Answer me, Kimberly!." Her voice lowered but it still sounded angrier than ever.

She had every right to be.

Even though she wasn't too keen on me going back to school, she knew I had to for when Michael and Andrew were old enough for her to fully be able to take care of, so I needed school regardless.

"Yes, mum!." I called back to her with an eye roll, walking over to the kitchen and dropped my car keys onto the counter, feeling my mums eyes burning through the side of my skull from her spot on the couch. "It's only for a week." I tried to defuse the situation.

"I couldn't give two fucking shits how long it's for!." She pushed herself up from the sofa and marched over to me. "Why would you fight that girl?." She muttered onto the side of my cheek and I could smell the liquor bouncing off of her tongue. I almost gagged at the smell, hating what she was doing to herself and our family every-time she swallowed the liquid.

"She smacked Kathleen." I murmured, ashamed of my behaviour towards Paige.

"Speak up, Kimberly." My mums voice was quiet yet demanding as her nails tapped along the island we was stood at.

"She smacked Kathleen in the face." I said to the woman louder, lifting my head up and turning to look at her with no fear in my eyes. My mother scoffed with an angry dry chuckle.

"So you took the liberty to break that girls nose and bust her tooth through her lip?." My mum gritted her teeth together as she hissed my behaviour at me. I looked down in shame. "Do not ignore me!." She grabbed a bunch of my hair and pulled my head closer to hers.

"Yes!." I let out a singular sob at the pain, feeling her hand release it's grip from my head and push me away from her.

"You're not leaving this house for a week, and you're not to see Eddie or Steve or any of them!." She called out with her back to me as she walked back into the lounge, or more like stumbled.

"What?!." I exclaimed, knowing I would go insane with her in the house for a whole week. "You can't do that!." I shouted back in defence, hating the punishment more than the suspension.

"I am you mother!." She pointed to her chest. "And I can do whatever I want until you no longer live under this roof, Kimberly!." Maureen looked me up and down before scoffing and sitting back onto the couch, picking up a crying Andrew from all of the noise.

I groaned to myself and stormed off upstairs to my room, slamming the door and locking it behind me.

"Stupid bitch." I began to mutter under my breath. "Why does she even care? If anything it just means I have to look after her children without any interruptions whilst she drinks herself half to fucking death in bed...AHHHH!." I cut myself off by throwing the candle Eddie had gotten me for my 18th birthday at the wall, watching it shatter into tiny little pieces.

Oh no. No, no, no, no. Fuck..why did I do that?.

I quickly ran over to the shattered glass on my floor and knelt to the ground, trying to pick up as much glass as I could to try and mend it back together.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." I cried to myself as I held the shards of glass in my hand, letting the tears flow down my cheeks and off of my face. I shook my head as I became an emotional wreck and dropped the glass, feeling the small sting of a cut on my palm. I threw my head back and sobbed loudly to myself, feeling more angry with me than anybody else.
