It felt abnormal not getting dressed for school, not revising for the finals with both of my brothers crawling around my feet like the nuisances they were and it definitely didn't feel right dressing up for a party that I had zero interest in. I know that I drank on my birthday, but that was an exception.
It was my mother fucking birthday.
Besides the party, I was kind of looking forward to whatever it was Steve had planned for us, because it was rarely often we actually planned to go to Steve's as a backup. We usually just crashed at his place until it was time to go home.
I hoped it involved his pool.
But for now, I had work and I wanted to speak to Brian about taking on full time shifts instead of just weekends. I had a feeling my mother wouldn't be happy about the situation, but if I wasn't to go to college alongside my classmates, then I'd at least try to keep my self occupied and bring in some money for myself.
Money was never an issue once we moved over to America, because my dad's detective job here payed at least $15,000 more a year than what his last one had over in England, and even with our struggles due to the boys, I still got anything I asked for. That didn't make me a brat, no, that made me smart. If my mum was going to force me to do her job for her, then I was going to get paid for it. My excuse for working full time would be I needed a large amount of income for college and everything I would be doing in the future, but it was all a lie.
I was saving up to move back to England with my Aunt Lin, where I would go to college. However, college over in England was free and kind of like high school but for kids aged 16-18 without a uniform. I hated the school uniform for my old high school, it sucked ass. The money I didn't spend on my move would either be saved for university (American college) or a beautiful little flat just on the outskirts of london, near the Middle East. I had heard Oxford was dazzling. But for now, I'd have to keep working my ass off in order to get what I had wanted and what I had wanted was so close to my fingertips that it was almost as if I could breath it in.
Speaking of work, I drove myself to the pool and saw Billy's car parked in the lot but no sign of Billy anywhere near it. Billy Hargrove was early for once?.
Goddamn, somebody had replaced him with a clone.
I clocked in to the pool and made my way into the changing rooms to do my usual routine of getting into the uniform and signing in. I scanned the page for Billy's name but couldn't see it anywhere.
What the hell was he doing?.
"Morning." Heather mumbled to me as she walked by, her voice startling me. I looked up from the clipboard and watched her miserable ass walk past me to do the same thing I had and get ready for the day ahead.
Great. If Billy was a no show, that meant I'd have to spend all day watching children disobey my rules without seeing or speaking to Bil for some clarity.
Fuck you Billy Hargrove. I hope she was worth it.

I sighed deeply as I leant back and absorbed the sun beaming down onto our heavenly body. I was bored and Billy hadn't arrived yet so it was just me and Heather, who hated me by the way. I think she fancied Billy and everybody now knew he had confessed his love for me since me and Eddie broke up, so I assumed it was jealousy blinding her.
