The day was December 1st, 1984 and already somebody had left a Christmas gift wrapped un-neatly on my window ledge. At first I had thought it might've been Steve but the note attached to the top of the present had awful handwriting, and that's how I found out it was from Eddie.
To my Princess,
I hope you like it. You definitely deserve it.
Love from
Ed ♡There was even a little heart scribbled down besides his name, which I could tell he had been practicing considering how tidy it was compared to his normal day to day hearts.
I didn't open it, thinking it was an early Christmas gift and he wanted me to save it, but as I got the boys ready for my mother, Eddie rang.
"Hello, Cassidy house." I said down the line, having an inclination that it was Eddie but not too sure. My father had warned me about answering the phone properly, so hearing Eddie laugh down the line at me just made it all the more stupid. "Fuck off." I said with an eye roll, making sure I could see my brothers as I spoke to my boyfriend.
"I can't, Princess, I have an appointment with the Cassidy's." I could feel his smirk down the line and it took all I had in me not to scold him for his child like behaviour.
"Anyway." I said, trying to change the subject drastically. "The present." I twisted the cord around my finger as I smiled sheepishly at the thought in my head.
"Did you like it?." Eddies voice lowered back down as he asked.
"I haven't opened it yet." I said as if it was obvious. "Was I supposed to?." I asked him.
"Yeah, that was the aim." Eddie replied with a short chuckle.
"Oh. I just thought that you wanted me to save it- Michael! Stop throwing your food- hold on, baby, my brother is throwing his breakfast." I said and put the phone on the cabinet, walking over to Michael and cleaning his hands filled with baby food. "This-." I pointed to his bowl. "Is supposed to go in your mouth..not on the wall." I spoke to the baby as I handed him his little plastic spoon before walking back over to the phone.
"I really don't see how that's an issue, Uncle." I heard Eddie half way through a conversation with Wayne as I held the phone up to my ear again.
"What's an issue?." I asked him, being nosey.
"Just something to do with Beck." He muttered. "Uh, I've gotta go, Princess..I'll see you soon, alright?." He asked me rather than stated before the line went dead, leaving me confused with a beeping telephone to my ear.
"Boys." I rolled my eyes playfully as I saw Andrew watching me and giggling. "I hope you two aren't as silly as Ed when you're older." I kept my baby voice on as I walked over to Andrew and gave his head a kiss.
With both of the boys fed, dressed and washed, I waited for my mother to slither down the stairs and into her throne before Eddie turned up, demanding that we ride in his van today.
"What's so important that we have to drive in your van?." I asked him as I shut my front door closed and walked down towards his vehicle.
"Business, Princess." Eddie smirked at me and swung open the passenger side door for me, allowing me to hop into the seat before he slammed the door shut and proceeded to do the same thing with his own side.
