The weather was still as beautiful as it had been during the middle of summer with the sun beaming down onto us, brightening our moods.
The school running track had become some what of a spot for sunbathing and study sessions and it was truly..nice?. Describing Hawkins high as 'nice' was very foreign for me, nevermind the majority of the school.
I sat with my legs out and my foot crossed over the other, leaning back on my hands whilst I listened to the sounds of my surroundings.
Eddie and Steve argued over who was more entitled to the ball they were playing with. "Don't make me come over there and round house you, Harrington."
"You're not round housing me over a ball, Eddie!."
Alongside that, Billy argued with Kathleen over something to do with Paige but I was too happy to get involved in any of that.
I leant my head down to have a look around at the other students, seeing some girls copying me whilst a few of the jocks were play fighting or trying to chat up somebody. Disgusting.
"She isn't right for you." I heard Billy mutter to Kathleen, causing a snort to escape her mouth.
"What? And you are?."
"I never said that, did I?."
"Well it sure sounds like you're insinuating that."
"All I'm saying, Kay, is that she's a bit.." Billy hesitated to find the perfect word to describe Paige.
"Go on." She encouraged him. "Spit it out."
He sighed. "She's just a bit too much for you."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?."
"You know what it means."
"If I knew what it meant, I'm sure I wouldn't be asking, would I?." The sarcasm rolled from her tongue with ease.
She was learning from the best.
"You're kind and thoughtful whereas she's in your face and manipulative." I finally turned my head to the pairs conversation and saw Eddie and Steve were watching on the sly as well.
"That's just her personality." Kathleen tried to defend her new girlfriend. Billy scoffed dryly.
"So if i said banging chicks was my personality, you'd just accept that, would you?." He asked her with a smirk. I snorted and shook my head.
"That would be some dry ass personality, Bil." I chuckled, hearing Eddie, Steve and Kathleen do the same.
"You see me point though?." Billy brought me into their conversation. I tried to keep it short, suggesting I didn't want to get involved..again.
"Yeah, it's fair." I shrugged and turned away from them, letting them continue without me. I closed my eyes as I leant my head back, feeling the suns burn absorb into my pale skin.
I was sad that summer was coming to an end but I could definitely say I had made some of the best memories this season, somehow even better than the last.
"Some deep thought going on there, Princess." Eddie stated from above me, forcing my eyes to open at the sudden sound of his delicate voice. I smiled and hummed up to him with a smile. "Anything interesting?." He asked before crouching down infront of me, leaning his hands on my thighs.
