Out of the whole group, which consisted of over Ten of us, Robin was the only one that I hardly knew yet saw almost every day of my life. She was kind and compassionate and very funny, maybe too funny to be friends with somebody like Steve Harrington.

Which is why I found it strange when she came to me the Thursday after the Valentine's Day dance wanting to talk to me, alone.

The weather was strikingly beautiful for the near end of February with the leaves almost ready to grow back around the branches that made home on the large log shaped bark that grew from the ground beneath us. So, when she asked me to walk with her, I didn't decline. If it had been raining however..the answer probably would've been no.

I had another meeting in an hour and instead of going home to get ready for it, I was spending the free time with robin.

It was obvious something was on her mind and it scared me because why would she come to me?. Maybe it was something that I had experienced and she just needed advice..or maybe it was something bad.

"You don't mind me talking to you about things do you?. Because it's perfectly fine for you to decline me and walk away right now-"

"Robin." I said to shut her up, finding it be one of the only ways to get her mouth to stop moving.

"You're right. Sorry." She apologised with a guilty expression but I placed my hand on her shoulder to show her that I wasn't judging, only trying to help. "It's just..I thought maybe you'd understand where I was coming from seeing as Steve doesn't. Steve never really understands where I'm coming from in this particular sense..and you know, you're friends with Kathleen so I assumed you would be the only person to help me out from an outside perspective." She continued to ramble on, but this time I didn't stop her. She was getting something off of her chest and I was waiting for it to come out.

"What is it?." I asked gently, not wanting to sound impatient.

"Uh..oh, god. This is a lot harder than when I told Steve-"

"Told Steve what?." I asked her, watching her eyes roam every where but my face as we stopped by the school field. "Hey." I placed the palm of my hand on her cheek, watching the red creep up them. "It's okay, Robin..just breath, okay?." I said and watched her nod, taking a deep breath in.

"I..fuck." She paused, gathering the words. "There's somebody I like..somebody who I really like..and I don't have the guts to tell them. I'm too scared that I've gotten the wrong impression from this person and I panic every time I even think about speaking to them about it-"

"It's not Steve is it? Or Billy because that's a real ol' silly joke." I said with snort, hoping my assumptions was wrong.

"No..they is not a he.." she trailed off waiting for my reaction. My eyebrows raised for a second when I finally realised before they went back to normal. "You don't seem..shocked?." She asked me.

"Why would I be?." I asked her.

"Just because." Was her response.

"Listen, Robin." I paused and smiled at her as we continued to walk the premise of the school field. "My brother likes both men and women, my best friend doesn't really know who she likes..I had a friend back home that only liked men but was too scared to come out because of the hatred for it, so he pretended that we dated just to stop the rumours but that didn't make him feel better, only worse. I get that you're scared, of course you'd be..but you don't know unless you ask." I said and remembered back to the day when Robbie had told me he wasn't into girls. "When Kathleen finally admitted to me that she liked Barb, I was over the moon for her and not just because she knew who she was, but because she trusted and confided in me enough to trust me with her secret, as you are now. None of us judged her when she told the group and none of us will do the same with you, and I'm sure whoever the lucky lady is probably thinks the same. I'm not saying to just go in head first because yes, people are still not very understanding of how the human body works..how the human mind works..but drop a few hints here and there..try and talk to her about certain things only you would understand from your experience with it and if she gets it..she gets it. If she doesn't, there's no proof that you like what you like, only subtle words that nobody else would understand." I finished with a shrug and a slight smile.
