I shouldn't have been awake at this time, but with Michael's screaming and how excited I was to get out of the house and back to school, I couldn't help but open my eyes from my awful nights sleep at 5:30am.
I was exhausted, as per usual, but the thought of finally seeing all of my friends in the same place gave me high hopes. Maybe this year would be completely different.
"Kim!." I heard my mum call for me, actually being awake this early for the first time since the boys were brought home.
I slid the quilt off of my legs and dipped my feet into my slippers, slouching as I walked across the hall and into my mums room.
"Will you take them down stairs and get them ready for me? I've got an appointment for Michael at 8." She mumbled from her bed, her eyes closed as she spoke to me.
"Yeah." I responded bluntly, picking Andrew up from his cot besides my mum and leaning him on one side of my hip walking around to the other side of the bed and doing the same with Michael, listening to his screams quiet down as he was placed in my other arm. "Come on, little ones. Let's go get you some food." I spoke to them in a baby voice as I walked from my mothers room and began the journey to the living room where their baby changing stations were.
Whilst I had them lay on their backs, side by side, with only a diaper on; the house phone rang and I groaned frustratedly, picking the half naked babies up and putting them in their high chairs in the kitchen, quickly, before rushing to the phone.
"Hello?." I asked almost out of breath, standing with my hand on my hip.
"Hi, princess." Eddie muttered tiredly down the phone, sounding as if he just woke up from a deep sleep.
"Morning, handsome." I said with a shy smile, turning to check on my brothers. "Andrew! No!." I quickly placed the phone on the unit and ran over to my little brother who had his twins hair in his hand. "Let go." I said to him sternly, trying to unleash his fingers from Michael's head. I pushed the chairs a little further away from one another to prevent it from happening again before I walked back over to the phone. "Sorry about that, Andrew was trying to beat Michael up." I sighed at my little brothers.
"Sounds like a normal day in the Cassidy house hold then." He snickered croakily.
"Fuck off." I snorted, picking at a bit of wood from the cabinet I was stood infront of. "Anyway, what are you doing up so early? That's not a Munson thing to do, is it?." I teased him, knowing this boy was always late for anything and everything.
"I couldn't afford to miss your first day back now, could I, princess?." I knew he had a smirk on his face as he spoke, he was so predictable.
"I'm only going to be away for an overall of two days a week, baby. You didn't need to get up at.." I leant backwards to see the clock in the kitchen. "Quarter to seven in the morning." My eyes widened as I said it, realising I had been awake for over an hour already.
"Wanted to go see Wayne before you, no offence, sweetheart." He said as I heard shuffling down the phone, suggesting he was doing something by his kitchen.
"No offence taken." I simply replied, knowing that his uncle Wayne needed him more than I. "Are you meeting me there, or?.." I trailed off, not knowing if I should drive myself to school from now on or if he wanted to keep me with him in the morning.
"I think it's about time you drove somebody else to school, don't ya think?." He snickered at his own remark.
"Very funny, dickhead." I said sarcastically before I heard one of my brothers start to scream overly loudly. "Give me a second, babe." I placed the phone back onto the cabinet again and walked over to a screaming Michael. "What is your problem today, baby? Hey? You keep getting yourself.." I trailed off as I picked him up. "..all worked up, don't you?." I gave him a kiss to the forehead as the wailing began to calm down. "See? You're okay." I held him on my side and walked back over to the phone. "I hope my kids aren't like him." I said to Eddie as a joke.
