"Upstairs, now." My heart jumped in my rib cage at his words, watching the veiled darkness reveal itself in his eyes as he held his hand out for me to hold onto.

I took his hand without question and let him pull me up the stairs by his sweaty palm, squeezing our way through the small bunches of people scattered around on the stairs and the hallway to the bedrooms.

"S'cuse me..thanks..yeah, sorry can we just get past please? Thanks." Eddie spoke to the different kids in our way politely until we finally found ourselves in my brother and his wife's bedroom. "Over there." Eddie pulled me forward by my hand and nodded to the bed with the wooden canvas. I obeyed his orders and clambered onto the mattress in a crawl as I heard the latch to the lock click behind me.

I sat on my bum and leant on my hands behind my back to observe Eddie. He took a few steps in my direction and crossed his arms over his chest.

"I'm sure you're a smart girl, Kim." Eddie began to patronise me with a sarcastic smile. "And I'm sure that you know how much you and Steve piss me off." He kept his eyes on me.

"I don't know what-"

"Don't play dumb right now, Kim." Eddie snarled angrily at me, his jaw flexing as he gritted his teeth together. "I'm getting real tired of telling you to stop fucking flirting with him. Why do you continue to ignore me?." I leant up off of my hands and sat up with my jaw hanging.

"Eddie, seriously, what are you talking about?." I asked him as I scuffled closer to the edge of the mattress.

"In a room full of people and you're straddling his lap? Oh but it's okay cause you guys are just 'friends' isn't that right?." He scoffed pathetically and uncrossed his arms from his chest to run his hands over his face.

"We were taking drugs togeth-"

"Oh! Oh right! That makes it okay then, Kim, doesn't it?! Fuck me! When will you fucking learn that nobody! And I mean nobody gets to touch you like that except me!!." Eddies voice gained in volume as he allowed his anger to take over his head.

"Stop shouting at me." I told him with tears in my eyes, feeling the special k begin to kick in.

"I'm not shouting-"

"Yes you are. You're angry and you're shouting at me." I told him and avoided his gaze, not wanting this to turn into an argument that we couldn't come back from.

"Of course I'm angry!." He exclaimed, his voice a little lower. "You're lucky it wasn't me who saw it." A small snort fell from the back of Eddie's throat.

"What?." I asked him and stood up from the bed to stand eye to eye with him. "What would you have done, Eddie? Beat Steve up? Teach me a lesson?." I began to get in his face.

I would not allow him to speak to me like that and get away with it. It was becoming too much of a common occurrence and it needed to stop.

"You know I'd never hit you, Kim." Eddies voice was laced with shock, not believing that I would ever think he'd actually hit me with his own hand. "You really do think lowly of me, don't you?." Eddie laughed and shook his head at me, finding it amusing.

"Takes two too tango, Eddie. If you're gonna hit Steve for it then you have to hit me for it." I told him and watched the disbelief in his eyes fade and turn to hurt.
