"Talk to him, Kim." Billy said sternly as he drove me home. I rolled my eyes at the curly haired boy and heard Max snigger in the back of the car. "Don't laugh." He turned in his seat to scold her.

"Eyes on the road, Hargrove." I punched him in the arm, making him smirk at me before he listened to my commands.

"Boys are shit heads anyway." Max got involved in our conversation. I hummed in agreement, causing Billy to laugh dryly and shake his head.

"She's not wrong!." I exclaimed after his reaction.

"Not all of us. Some of us have fucking manners." He muttered, most likely referring to Eddie and what was happening between us at the moment.

"You? Manners? Hah!." I smacked my knee and laughed loudly. "Okay!." I shook my head and heard Max giggling behind me.

"Fuck you." Billy smiled with his words, making them not very threatening.

His car slowed down as he pulled up to my street, looking over at me once he parked at the bottom of my driveway. I sighed and released my seat belt, turning to face the ginger girl in the back of the car.

"It was lovely meeting you, Maxine." I said with a smirk, watching her facial expression change. "I hope to see you again sometime, maybe without this idiot." I turned and made a fake snort.

"You too Kim." She said simply. I faced Billy again and leant over to give him a hug, feeling his arms hold my frame at the bottom of my back and my shoulders.

"Promise me you'll talk to him?." He asked as he whispered in my ear. I grunted but nodded, moving away from his body and opening the car door, saying my goodbyes.

I walked up my driveway and began to pull my house keys out, unlocking the door and hearing the phone ring as soon as the door slammed shut.

"Hello?". I asked, hoping it was my dad.

"Hey." Eddie's voice sounded down the phone. My heart jumped a little, missing him more than I probably should've been right now.

"Where've you been?." My tone was stern, a little annoyed at the fact he hadn't tried to contact me within four days.

"I think I've got that flu that Wayne had." He sniffled up, but I didn't believe a word he said. Anytime Eddie was ill, the only thing he wanted was me.

I scoffed lightly. "Why are you lying?." I asked him straight up. "In fact, whilst we're on the subject.."

"Kim, don't start." He sighed with a deep grunt at the back of his throat.

"No. Why have you been lying to me for weeks now, Eddie?." I wanted answers because Billy was right, we needed to talk.

"Lying?" He asked, pretending to be oblivious. "Sweetheart, I don't know what-"

"Fuck off." I scoffed and hung up the phone, knowing that he wasn't just going to lie his way out of his lies.

The phone rang again and I yelled to myself, taking a deep breath before answering the machine.

"Eddie what the f-"

"Pumpkin?." My dad asked down the line, most likely confused as to why I was angry.

"Oh, dad!. How is she?." I asked him immediately, more worried for the twins than I was my mother.

"They've given her a tocolytic medication to try and see if the babies can breathe a little longer, but it's not looking good. They think they might have to do a surgery." I could hear the pain in his voice, the worry for his wife and children present in his throat.
