With my normal morning routine done and the clock having just turned Eleven AM, I found myself on the ledge of my window with a blunt hanging from my lips, allowing the nerves to ease over as my brain slowed and ceased the thinking it had been doing since five o'clock this morning.
I was completely unaware of any of today's events and it made me extra nervous. I knew whatever it was Eddie had in store for me would either have happy tears strolling down my face by the end of the night or some sort of gag in my mouth to shut me up.
"Pumpkin.." I twisted my head to look at my dad through the window, his hand on the knob of the door as his body was leant half way into my room. "Kim." My father stepped in the room fully as he said my name disappointedly, hating the fact I smoked. Specifically weed.
"It helps me, dad." I said and took another puff, feeling the nerves building drastically as the clock ticked down to the date. "Anyway, what's up?." I asked him, keeping my eyes on the middle aged man who was now stood by my window, leant against the frame with his arms crossed.
"What time will Ed be here?." He asked simply, a small smile creeping onto his face.
"He said twelve but this is Eddie.." I paused to take a drag of the spliff. "When has he ever been on time to anything?." I asked my dad rhetorically with a small snigger.
"Mhm." My dad hummed and nodded in agreement. "I gotta speak to him before you leave, okay?." He pushed himself from the window frame and looked down at me.
"Why?." I asked a little worried, not so sure I trusted whatever it was my dad wanted to say to my boyfriend.
"Don't concern yourself with that, pumpkin." He left a gentle kiss to my forehead before I watched him walk away slowly. "You have yourself a wonderful time and if you don't end up back here tonight, I'll make sure to see you before I go back tomorrow." My father nodded and closed the door behind himself.
I turned my full attention back to the joint in between my fingers to finish it, ignoring the weirdness radiating from my dad's previous sentence. When I did, I quickly hopped back into my bedroom through the open window and started to get ready for the date.
I showered, washing my hair and shaving my body completely, i quickly brushed my teeth and rinsed my face with a warm cloth as I did every morning. Making a quick run back to my room, I made sure to lock the door and close my blinds as I started to get dressed, not really wanting anybody to drive past and get a clean view of my naked body.
As I stood there face to face with my dresser, hands on my hips with a white towel wrapped around my body, I thought. I thought about the outfit in my head along with Eddie's words. 'Dress however you like, princess. Don't let a man tell you what to wear.' Which made me laugh at the time because Eddie had forbade me to wear a lot of clothing since we first met, so it was pretty ironic.
I leant down onto my knees and opened the dresser draws one by one, going through every item of clothing and pulling out potential items to piece together. I had a thin, burgundy knitted jumper over the top of a white, button down T-shirt with a black checkered squirt and some fishnets, or I had a white knitted polo neck with some blue baggy Levi jeans and a black and white, knitted chequered flannel.
I was indecisive and I knew that Kathleen would've been able to help me right now, but she still wasn't talking to me and I had no idea why. Yeah, maybe I hadn't tried as hard to speak to her this time, but the few times I had, she had told me that she wasn't ready to talk. The last time we spoke didn't go down too well but strangely, I had a feeling it could've been worse.
