As I drove over to Kim's house, all I could hear was the sounds of panic in her voice as she told me to help her, as she told me she was scared for her life. The thought of anything happening to her wouldn't process through my mind because nobody could take her away from me. Not a single soul was allowed to take Kim away from me.

I made sure to go as fast as this piece of shit van would go so I could save her, so I could tell her that I had made the biggest mistake of my life and that all I ever wanted was her, because it was true.

Kim had come into my life and changed it for the better, even with her downfalls and her own afflictions. I loved everything about her and I would until I physically couldn't anymore. I know I had made mistake with her..with us in the past, but she was finally giving me that chance to change things and so I drove down the almost deserted roads of Hawkins too fucking fast for the van too handle so that I could save her and tell her that she was all I'd ever want, but it was already too late.

When I pulled up to her street, there was red and blue lights flashing all over the place and loud screams coming from inside of the home, ones that sounded like Maureen. The police and ambulance were stationed on her driveway, on the sidewalk and even inside of the house itself. Her neighbours loved a good gossip, so they stood and watched so they could spread the word, but they wouldn't need to. The news and papers would do that for them.

"LET ME GO!. LET ME GO!. LET ME GO!." She screamed as I ran up to the front of the house. "I'LL KILL YOU ALL!. I HATE HER!. I HATE HER!." She continued, and as I walked up towards the front door, I saw Kim being pushed out on the stretcher, looking as if she was dead.

Her face was completely unrecognisable and her eyes were vacant, but open. She was covered in her own blood as her arms lay limp off of the side of the stretcher. The way her eyes were almost glossed over ignited something inside of me and i couldn't tell if it was venom or despair.

What had she done to her?. What had she done to my Kim?.

"Kim.." I called to her, rushing by her side to take her almost cold hand in mine. "What happened?!." I tried to ask one of the paramedics who was helping push her towards the ambulance, a massive crowd of people around the bottom of her drive, but I was pulled away from her lifeless body by Hopper. "NO!." I screamed and tried to kick my way out of his grip. "NO!. GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF OF ME!." I bellowed and tried to force my way back to Kim, to be by her side and let her know that everything was okay, even if I knew it wasn't.

I couldn't leave her, I couldn't let her die on her own. If only I had gotten here that little bit earlier..maybe.

"Eddie, she's going to the hospital and they're going to make sure she's okay." The Chief tried to explain to me, holding onto my distraught face tightly as my eyes kept following her. "Look at me, son." He turned my face towards him harshly and I could see the horror in his eyes. A sigh escaped his lips as a loud sob left mine, his arms moving from my face to pull me into his chest.
