Together we emerge from a surprisingly unfamiliar warm subterranean waterfall. Moving away from the plunge pool, I quickly catch up to Jinx as swims gracefully on her back.
"Ari, lay back with me," she asks motioning for me to lay on my back.
As I obey her, I look up and see the Plethorian sky in a new light. The suns shine as bright as ever in the fascinating azure sky. White thick fluffy clouds fill the crisp morning sky. I can't quite figure out the beauty of it all but something is uniquely distinct about the sky.
"Beautiful," I whisper.
"It is," Jinx replies causing me to look at her as she stands up in the chest-deep water.
She stands over me looking into my eyes. She is beautiful, yet her beauty pales in comparison to the sky above; only one can stand against it; that one being my Ever.
"Jinx, doesn't the sky look different?"
"Why would the sky look different?"
"I don't know, it is hard to explain. More crisp maybe."
"No, it looks the same as usual," she says.
For a brief second, I close my eyes, breathe in, and reopen them. The splendid sky recaptures my attention once again.
Two distance objects swiftly float together across the sky. They look like airfowls. Using my rays I zoom in on what is.....
Whoa, not airfowls.
Water fills my nose as I fall into the water and struggle to stand. As I quickly stand, splashing mounds of water, I blow water out of my nose and wipe it from my face.
"Ari, are you okay?" Jink asks while holding onto my arm.
"Yes, I'm fine."
Her laughter fills our surroundings as she helps me.
Ignoring her laughter I look at the sky and no longer see them in sight.
"Those were airaptor; actual airaptor, why are airaptor here?" I ask, completely confused.
"I don't know, they're existing in their environment," she nonchalantly says as if it's no big deal.
"But real airaptors don't exist anymore," I say confused as ever.
"Who told you that?" she asks confused by my question just as confused as I am by what's going on.
"Life, history, and the fact that I don't see them flying around," I say.
"Do you believe what life, history, and what you don't see tell you often?"
"Yes, why wouldn't I?"
"You limit yourself," she says, "come on, let's go," she says pulling my arm.
"Okay but what about the airaptors?" I ask, still confused by their existence.
"I'm sure they are fine, let's go," she says leading me out of the water.
"Where are we going?" I ask while looking back at the sky, hoping to see the airaptors again.
"Our next destination silly," she says laughing as we go.
After walking for what seems like two miles along the shoreline, hand in hand, we end up in front of a canopy made of leaning branches and leaves from two tall trees that stand near each other. I look around the space making mental images of both its beauty and familiarity. It looks like a mature version of Vacation Isle, with much larger trees and no hotels or places for entertainment.
