☆Ruined Routine☆

Jake seemed to be acting off today. This wasn't like him. Usually he's more ecstatic and positive about the day. But today, just wasn't like that. Currently the punk is just sitting at the kitchen table, mindlessly scrolling on his phone in his hands.

Reading the hate comments he recently has been receiving. Usually he doesn't give a fuck, but today is a different experience with it.

Johnnie walked into the kitchen, looking at Jake.
"Jake.. you okay? You've been acting... Off all day..." He notices the quiet demeanor in Jake's behavior.

Jake slowly lifts his gaze off the little device in his hand. His brown eyes looked over to the emo's piercing blue eyes that were staring back at him.

Jake's lips are expressing a flat-line across them as he just shrugs his shoulders, before looking at his phone again.

Johnnie just sighed, and gently took the phone out of his hands, putting it down out of reach. He knelt down in front of him, frowning.

"Jake.. come on, you were fine this morning, and now you've been off all day. I know you don't want to talk about it, but you can trust me to listen."

Jake looks up at Johnnie. "it's stupid, really I shouldn't give a fuck about it. but it's honestly...fuck man. The amount of hate that you and i, fuck, even Tara is receiving is just.. bullshit. I shouldn't care, but today is just.. today."

Johnnie sighed again, gently taking one of Jake's hands into his own. He squeezed it gently, rubbing his knuckles with his thumb.

"I know it doesn't make you feel any better to hear, but I am gonna just tell you that most of the hate just comes from people who have nothing better to do." Johnnie responded.

Jake rolls his eyes at this statement. "Yeah, I know." he responded as he gets up from where he was seated.

The emo frowned, standing up as well. He watched him, and sighed. "Then what's bothering you about it? I thought you were used to it at this point." Johnnie says.

Suddenly Jake scoffed, shaking his head. "what the fuck? no. I shouldn't be normalized by it. it's a small percentage of people, you're right. but you aren't use to it either! you even confronted them on your stream a few weeks ago about it."

Johnnie is rubbing the bridge of his nose. "I know I did that on stream, but I'm used to that kind of stuff. I've had people hating on me for as long as I've had my channel. You, on the other hand..." He paused, not knowing how to phrase his next sentence as gently as he could.

"What." Jake says, almost pissed. Just staring at Johnnie with a slight scowl. He was a bit overwhelmed with the sudden phrase.

Johnnie swallowed nervously, knowing he wasn't going to like this. "You've had a taste of fame for how long now? A year? Two? You're not used to things like this. You've always been so sweet and positive towards your fans. It's normal for you to be thrown off by the fact that now you're getting all this hate."

Jake scoffed, shaking his head. "Johnnie, we have been on social media pretty much the same amount of time. we only skyrocketed when we started collabs. I have been on YouTube for least 8 or so years, just like you. And you also get fuckin hurt by the hate, it's not just me!" He raised his voice a little.

"I'm not saying I don't. But you're the one being more affected by it today. Yes, it does suck to see people tearing me down, especially when they don't know me. But you, like you said earlier, you were fine this morning. Now you're just moody. What changed between now and then?" Johnnie retorted, getting a bit frustrated with him as well.

The last thing he wanted, was to argue with his best friend.

Jake groans, then it all comes flooding out. His hands clenched into fists as he said angrily, "my routine! got screwed up this morning! I was supposed to be up at eight, did I? NO! apparently I fucking forgot to set my alarm last night after that party we went to! Next, I fucking forgot I had a podcast to go to, the dropouts with Zach and Tara and I just - forgot about it and they had to postpone. oh, fuck, then lastly I fucking forgot that i had to edit my video today and so it won't be posted."
