Chapter 40 Popping Over and Distractions

We wrapped up the recording with the others by five and videos were uploading, everything was working smoothly. Ross said he was almost finished on the latest GTA video so us three went to wait for him in the common room since Smith wanted to look at Duncan and Sjin's War Hammer. As we walked down the hall with all our stuff we talked about how Ross was dealing with the whole brake up. 'He is managing far better than I had thought he would.' I said, 'Yeah. When he split with Lucy he stayed in his room for the whole day and most of the next.' Smith said. 'Maybe he is just not thinking about it. Distracting himself with work.' That's when it clicked, Ross wasn't distraught about his brake up with Kim because he was distracted by the kissing incident. 'Has he said anything to you Abbey?' Trott asked, 'Well he seems better than last night. But I think Smith is right, I reckon he is distracting himself. So he doesn't have to deal with it.'

We walked into the common room and waited with Duncan and Sjin for fifteen minutes before Ross said he was ready to go. As we were walking out the door Duncan shouted after us, 'hey, is it alright that I pop by later? Kim has asked me to pick up a few things from the house.' We all looked at Ross who still had his back to Duncan. 'Why can't she come by and do it herself?' I asked. 'She said she doesn't want to cause a scene.' Trott said it was fine that he come over and Smith put his arm around me and guided me towards the door.

Once we were outside and walking home I walked with Ross with Trott and Smith up front. We didn't say anything but I could tell he wanted to talk and I wanted to talk to him as well knowing that this situation that we had was the only thing distracting him from his brake up.

When we got in Katie was already cooking dinner so I left all my stuff by the door and went through to give her a hand and I think the guys went through to the living room. 'What we cooking?' I asked lifting a lid on a pan. 'Roast chicken and vegetables and a apple crumble for pudding.' She said standing next to me. 'How was Ross today?' she asked, I shrugged my shoulders leaning on the counter next to the hob. 'He is alright at the moment, we think he might be trying to distract himself with work most probably.' Katie listened walst she stirred the gravy. 'Duncan is coming over in a bit to pick up some of Kim's stuff, I don't know what she is going to do. Ross can't move out of here and let her move back in surly.' I said and Katie looked at me, 'Ross is a nice guy I wouldn't put it past him to try and offer her to stay.' Katie started plating up dinner and I went through to the living room where the guys were to get them for dinner. 'Dinner is up.' I said but only Smith and Trott were in the living room. 'Is Ross upstairs?' I asked and they nodded, they went through to the dining room and I went upstairs to find Ross for dinner.

I checked the bedroom first and he was stood packing some of Kim's clothes into a bag on the bed. 'Dinner is ready, I can do that if you want.' I said walking in and folding a shirt that was on the bed. 'I got it. I will be down in a second.' He said carrying on to pack the bag. 'The whole situation between you and I are you using it as a distraction?' I asked him. He looked at me confused. 'Now you want to talk about it?' he asked sounding slightly annoyed. 'me and the guys think that you are distracting yourself, they said with work since they don't know about the thing but I think you are distracting yourself.' I said he sat on the bed next to me putting the bag on the floor. 'Makes sense I guess, but we need to talk about it. If it had happened just the once then I would leave it alone but it happened more than once. And you didn't complain.' I stood up quickly and looked at him. 'I didn't realise what was going on. And you kissed me.' I said, 'You can't blame this whole thing on me, I had just had my world crushed and didn't know what I was doing.' He started to raise his voice. 'I am not blaming the whole thing on you. I am confused.' I said starting to raise my voice as well. 'I am confused too!' He said, 'what are you confused about!?' he didn't answer, 'What are you confused about? The reason Kim broke up with you? Why you can't seem to handle things? Why, no matter how hard you try your past never seems to leave you alone, it always finds a way to come back in one form or another!?' I shouted. He looked at me, he didn't say anything, he didn't move he just looked at me. 'I'm sorry.' I said and sat back on the bed. 'It's fine.' He said sitting next to me. We sat in silence for a moment, 'what you said. Is it the same for you?' he said and I nodded, 'thank you.' He said and I looked at him. 'For what, losing it and shouting at you?' he shook his head, 'No for being honest with me.' He said. We sat there until there was a knock on the door. Smith walked in. 'We are still waiting for you downstairs. What are you doing? There was shouting.' He asked. 'We were just talking.' I said standing up. 'Talking? Shouting isn't talking. Duncan is downstairs waiting for Kim's stuff Ross.' Smith said leaving the room and we followed him down.

Duncan took the stuff from Ross and he left since he was cooking dinner at home and it would be burnt if he didn't leave. After he had gone we all sat back down at the table, Katie, Trott and Smith had pretty much finished theirs. There wasn't much in the way of conversation at the table. I tidied up most of the stuff with Smith in the kitchen. 'So then are you going to tell me what you and Ross were talking about?' he asked leaning on the counter as I wiped down the opposite counter. 'Nothing.' I said. 'What happened to telling each other everything?' He said crossing his arms, I turned around and sighed. 'I was making him realise what was happening in his life.' I told him very vaguely and ever so slightly lying. 'Was that a good idea?' Smith asked and I shrugged my shoulders, 'We will have to find out wont we.'

Sub guysh Abs here (Sorry I had to.) I am really enjoying writing these parts, they are far more interesting to write and hopefully good to read. There is a lot going on in life right now for me, I don't go to college any more, I work strange and wonderful times in the glory that is retail and there is possibly even a you tube channel on the horizon. So I am slightly busy so if there Isn't an upload or something I promise it's because I haven't been able to put one out. I have written a fair amount ahead so I have a back log, if I cant upload one then I will update on twitter and maybe tumblr but I should be able to get at least one chapter out every other day at this time ish. Well this had been ramblerly so I will leave you now.
