31. Joined forces

~Valerie's POV~

I've been in a daze every since we left the apartment, I just can't seem to forget about the memory of what just took place less than 40 minutes ago. "Baby why aren't you eating your food?" Ryan asked bringing me out of my thoughts. He breaks the lobster in half and I grimace at the sound of the cracking.

"I'm not all that hungry anymore." I said softly

He cracks the lobster again and sucks the meat out of the shell, "Sure you are. I already paid for the food, now go ahead and eat before your pasta gets cold."

I stare at my plate and he ordered the same thing he had; lobster and shrimp pasta. "What's the matter? You don't know how to open it? Let me show you." He leaned over the table, grabbed my lobster and cracked the shell. I grabbed his hand and he looked at me.

"Are you alright?" He asked concerned

"No, I can't take the cracking noise. It only reminds me of what happened.."

He sighed and leaned back in his chair, "I know you're still shaken up by what happened, but that's the cost of being the bosses wife."

"Yeah but, it's not my job to be the boss. Why do I have to be involved?"

He slid his chair next to me and put his arm around my shoulder and bought me closer to him, "Because baby, I got to know that you're down with me. Whatever happens, you stand with me and have my back." I nod my head and he kisses me on the cheek

"Now I want you to eat some of this food because it's really good." He picked up my fork and twirled some noodles on it and bought it to my mouth. I opened my mouth and he stuck the food inside.

I chewed it and he bought more food to my mouth, "It's good isn't it?" I shook my head and I opened my mouth for more

"I don't know what time I'll be home tonight, so don't worry about cooking anything."

"Ok, I'll just eat what's at the house." I said swallowing the rest of the food. Ryan leaned over and kissed me along my jawline up to behind my ear.

"Do you love me?" He whispered in my ear

"Yes, I love you."

He smiled and bit my earlobe, "Good, cause I love you too."

    ~Ryan's POV~

After dropping Valerie off back at the house, I had to go to an important meeting about a rival mob.
Every since I stepped up and became mob boss everyone else has been put on high alert.
I've been to many sits downs and meetings before, but something about this meeting just isn't sitting right with me. Oh well, if I don't like what I'm hearing, then it'll just be one less headache I have to worry about.

I walked in the room and I already knew it was gonna be trouble. "Ah! You got to be kidding me right now! Is this a joke?! Someone please tell me this is a joke!"

Lo and behold it was Nate sitting on the other end of the table and he was just a shocked as I am right now. I walked over and sat down in front of him while keeping a straight face while he looked at me with bewilderment. "Please tell me that you have a twin brother named Ryan and he's married to a girl named Valerie."

"Nathan it's me." He leaned back and put his hands over his face

"Ah shit!! How am I going to explain this one to her. If I kill you she's gonna hate me for the rest of my life, but if you kill me then she'll hate you. Either way we're both fucked!" He said mostly to himself.

"Look Nathan, I don't want to do this anymore than you do. I love Valerie and I want her to continue to love me back." I said genuinely

"Ok I got plan. Why don't you and I team up together, think of it as a great business deal."
