59. Family Outing

~Valerie's POV~

A few weeks later, Ryan took a day off and decided to take me and Jeremiah out for the day in his all black Lambo. I chose to wear a simple grey sweater with denim jeans and my white high top Chuck Taylors. Ryan had a simple white shirt with a black leather jacket, black joggers and black Tims. I put Jeremiah in a long sleeve shirt and long pants with a light jacket.

After we had breakfast earlier, Ryan said he was first going to take us to the movies, "So what are we watching?" I asked

He glanced at me and then looked back at the road, "We're going to see a rated R movie. It's filled with lots of blood and guts are spewing out everywhere." I looked at him with a straight face and he just shrugged his shoulders

"Ok I'm kidding, it's a kids movie. I wouldn't dare let Jeremiah watch something like that." He said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice

I gave him a bored look, "You and I both know, that if I wasn't around like you are most of the time, you would have him watching all kinds of stuff like that."

"No I wouldn't, I know the limits when it comes to him and right now he doesn't need to see that."

"Does the same thing apply with work?" I asked looking at him

"Yes even work. There's a time for all of that, but right now is not the time."

"I'm glad you feel that way." I said softly

He scoffed, "Come on baby, I'm not that cold blooded. You expect me to throw him out there at one and expect him to do what I do?"

"No I don't, it's just.." Before I could finished he stopped me

"I already know what you're about to say and it's not like that. Remember he's my son to and if I could keep him away from this fucked up shit, then I would but you and I both know I can't. Yeah it's only a matter of time, but that's a long way from now and we're just getting started, so don't be sad, today is a nice day and we're going to enjoy it, okay?"

He gently put his finger under my chin and glanced at me, "Okay." I said as he rubbed my head and then kissed my hand

"I love you girl, don't forget it."

We made it to the theater and Ryan bought our tickets for the movie. "Y'all go ahead and get a seat, I'll get some popcorn and something to drink."

"Ok, let's go Jeremiah." I held his hand as he followed me to the movie. When we got to the stairs I picked him up and chose to sit on the very top row

I reached in Jeremiah's bag and gave him his sippy cup and took out a bag of snacks for him and set it in the cup holder and placed the bag in between my feet. Ryan came in and he walked up to the top and slide in the row to the seat next to me. "I got the medium size popcorn because the last time we didn't eat all of it."

"You remembered." I said smiling

"Of course I remember, that was our first official unofficial date together. How could I possibly forget something like that." He said eating the popcorn

"Is this my drink or yours?" I asked pointing to the cup

"It's both ours."

"What kind is it?"

"Mountain Dew." He took the cup and started drinking it and afterwards, he tried handing it to me, "You want some?"

"I don't want to drink from the same straw." I said as he stared at me with a blank face
