Dylan had an amazing weekend, full of laughter and excitement and not a care in the world about anything else, it's been the best he's ever had since he can remember. He's never had this much fun in such a short period of time and now he must go back to his reality, the only reality he's ever known since he was a small child, the wild, uncaring and chaotic world.

Val knew he wasn't too enthused about today because he wasn't energized and ready to start the morning like he normally would have, instead he walked around with a solemn look on his face. She didn't want to get him all worked up if she went ahead and told him that her and Ryan are in the process of adopting him, so she just tried to remain positive for him.

After the kids left for school, Val and Ryan decided to take Dylan back home and by the obvious look on his face, he didn't want to go but he just couldn't form the words together to come out and say it. During the ride, all he could do was stare out of the window at the trees go by and small tears rolled down his face.

When they arrived at the house, it was like he was frozen in place, he didn't want to go back to the yelling, constant arguing and abuse that his father would do day in and day out. Valerie noticed as she grabbed ahold of his hand, "Everything's alright." She said assuringly as they walked up to the doors of the house

Ryan knocked on the door and in a few seconds, Marc came to the door in a happy mood but when he saw Dylan, he changed but he tried not to show it. "I see you're back." He said trying to sound happy "Please, come in." He said leading them to his living room

"Did he break anything or get on your nerves while he was with you?" He asked eyeing Dylan and that made him squeeze Valerie's hand tighter

"No, he was very sweet and at times we didn't know he was in the house." She said lightly running her thumb over the back of his hand

"Well, Dylan tell the nice people thank you for letting you stay with them for the weekend." He said as Dylan turned to them sadly

"Thank you for letting me stay, I had a lot of fun." He said sadly trying to hold back the tears

"Alright, no need to get all misty eyed. Go on and go up to your room." He said dismissively

"Wait, before you send him away, I want to talk to you about something." Ryan interjected

Marc groaned, "Oh no, he did do something. What did I tell you about messing with stuff that doesn't belong to you!" He angrily pointed at the boy

"No, no it's nothing like that. I have a proposition for you." Ryan said as Marc was surprised

"Oh, well in that case have a seat." He said as they sat on the short couch and Dylan sat at the very end away from Marc

"I've known you for a while now and lately I've noticed you've been a little stressed out and have taken on a lot more than usual, and because of that you've been neglecting the child's needs. So in efforts of making your life a little bit easier, I propose that you sign Dylan over to us and we can take him off your hands for awhile." Ryan said as Marc sat there with a shocked expression
