44. Saved

~Valerie's POV~

These nights have been horrible, I can't sleep and even if I could it wouldn't work with me leaning up against the wall and sitting on the hard floor. My head hurts and I just want to go home.

I hear the rusted door open and I shrug my arm to wake up Tristyn. The lights are turned on temporary blinding us. My eyes get adjusted to the light and three men step in front of us, two of them are the ones that took me and Tristyn, and the other I don't know.

"I finally get a chance to meet Valerie and Tristyn."

"And who are you?" I asked

"My names Derrick and you are the beautiful Valerie. No wonder Nathan keeps you locked away from the world, you are simply breathtaking." He said eyeing me

"I would appreciate it if you didn't look at me like that."

He smiled "Feisty, I love that in a woman."

"Oh yeah, well why don't you go find yourself one and leave me alone."

"I can't do that just yet, I heard what happened the other day with you and Kathleen, and the disagreement you two had, but it's a new day and I want to know where is your brother?"

"I'm gonna tell you like I told that girl, I don't know!"

"Of course you do."

"How should I know I'm stuck her with you! He could be anywhere and I don't know because I'm trapped here and you asking me questions like I saw him five minutes ago! Besides if you want him so bad, I'm sure you know how to find him, why drag us in this."

"Tristyn do you know where your husband is?" He asked, I'm raging on the inside and if I wasn't chained up right now I would totally bash his face in

"No I don't, just let us go home!" She yelled

He chuckled, "She's so cute, the both of them are. I'm afraid if you don't tell us anything I will make you tell me." He glared at me and I didn't back down

"Take your best shot, I still won't tell you anything."

"Ok have it your way. Take Ms. Tristyn upstairs." He ordered. The two big men roughly grabbed Tristyn and started dragging her away from me as she still tried to hold on.

"No! No! Please don't!" She begged and pleaded, the look of terror and fear in her eyes as she cried and reached out to me, I couldn't let them take her.

"Ok wait!.. Take me instead." I spoke out

Derrick raised his eyebrow and smiled, "Are you sure that's what you want?"

"Yes, take me and not her." I said boldly

"Fine, get Valerie instead." They let go of Tristyn and came to grab me. Tristyn still had tears in her eyes as she shook her head.

"Valerie you didn't have to do that."

"Yes I did, and don't worry about me."  They carried me up the stairs while the whole time Tristyn and I held each other's gaze until we were out of each other's sight. When we reached the top of the stairs I looked around for an exit or something to get out of here.

The two men threw me in a room and locked the door behind them as they shut it. The windows were boarded up and all there was, was a small mattress and a tattered blanket. I sat on the mattress and thought of a plan to get out here...

"So this is the plan, I go in first and smooth things over, then you come in and we out."
