69. Turned upside down

~Valerie's POV~

It was early in the morning and I didn't feel like doing anything today, I just wanted to stay in bed and laze around all day. Ryan had already gotten up to leave, so it was just me by myself in the bed as usual. The door opens and Ryan comes in with Jeremiah snuggled up in his arms and he gently lays him in the bed with me and puts some cover over him

"You mind if he sleeps in here for the rest of the morning?"

"Why not, you already put him in the bed with me."

"I thought I'd bring him in here, to keep you from getting up and it's still pretty early. Take care and I'll see you tonight." He kissed my forehead and rubbed my stomach and he leaned down and kissed Jeremiah on the side of his face which made him move around a little in his sleep.

He left the room and I laid back down to go back to sleep. Jeremiah stirred in his sleep and then cuddled up next to me with his head on my chest and thumb in his mouth. I smiled as I stroked his hair and moved his curls from his face.

Later on that morning I finally woke back up but still didn't feel like getting up. I took a quick shower and threw on some shorts and a t-shirt and woke Jeremiah up and gave him a bath. I made some breakfast for the both of us and we are back in the bed while we watched cartoons on Netflix.

After that I did decide to get up and do some laundry, feed the dogs and straighten up the living room. Jeremiah would run around with his toys and make a bunch of noise, but at least he was occupied with something to do and he's just a happy kid.

I took the clothes out of the dryer and folded them up and then went to empty the dishwasher and put all the plates and dishes away. I mopped the kitchen floor and in the dining room.

After I did all that, it was around three when I finished, so I sat in the chair and took a break while I watched Jeremiah run around with his toys. The phone started ringing and I got up to go answer it, "Hello."

"Hey Val, it's me Levi."

"Hey Levi! If you're calling for Ryan, he's not here right now."

"Yeah I know, that's what I'm calling about."

"Oh what's up? Did he do something to you and you have an idea on how to get him back?"

"No, I called to let you know that Ryan's in jail..."

My heart stopped and for a moment I couldn't breath, "Wha, what?!"

"I'm sorry, but he's in jail. He wanted me to call you and tell you."

"No, no, no this is a joke, please tell me this is a joke!"

"It's not a joke Val, oh how I wish it was, but it's not.."

"When did this happen?!"

"Not long ago when they came and got him. He also wanted me to let you know that he will call you later tonight."

I started to sob, "Thank you Levi for telling me." I sniffled

"I wish I didn't have to, but if you need anything don't hesitate to call me, no matter how late it is, I'll be right over."

"I think I'll be fine..." I said holding back the tears and then a knock at the door, "There's someone at the door, thanks again for the call I really appreciate it."

"Anything for a friend. I'll talk with you later."

"Ok, bye." I wiped my face of the tears that fell and I went to go answer the door. It was two officers, one of them was from dinner that night when Nate clowned him and the other was a thin looking man
