"Well today is the day. I would be lying if I said I wasn't anxious to hear your answer." Alex and Valerie had met up at the coffee shop next door after they finished working out

"Anxious? What do you have to be anxious about?" He asked

"Not just anxious but you have me curious. Personally it doesn't matter what you choose because it's not my opinion that's going to make this any better or worse, so whatever you decide and think is right, is alright with me." She shrugged

"So you're saying that if you were to agree with me then you would be going against your husbands wishes."

"We have our disagreements but that's as far as it goes, just a simple disagreement. At the end of it all, he's going to do what he wanted to do in the first place."

Alex heavily sighed, "I'm sorry Val but I just can't do it. I worked too hard to just let someone walk in and take it all away from me. I know that's your husband and all but I'm just not going to do it."

"And I respect you for that, I want you to do what's best for Alex."

"Do you mind if I ask you something?" He asked

"Sure go ahead."

"How did you and Ryan even get together? You're two completely different people, day and night. You're a sweet hearted woman and he's an uncaring cold-hearted monster; how does that happen?" He asked

"It just happened, something I really can't explain but we work." She shrugged

"All I'm saying is, in hindsight it's not compatible, just like beauty and the beast."

"How did we get from your decision to comparing my marriage to beauty and the beast? I know you may not agree with my choice of a husband but it's my choice and nobody can't shame me because I feel in love with him. Yeah I know people hate him but so what, he's my man and I love him. We've been through too much together and we have a family together and I'm not going to let anyone break that apart. Just to let you know that I'm staying out of this for a reason, your personal grievances with Ryan has absolutely nothing to do with me and hopefully after this is all over with and settled, we can still be friends."

He smiled, "Of course we can, who else is able to give me a challenge on the mile."

"Well I wouldn't necessarily call you a challenge, you're more of a warmup compared to me." She said while grinning

"Really now? Just because you won a gold metal in the olympics you think you're all that huh?"

"Yep, I am all that."

                                           2 days later

Alex came angrily marching in the building and he was not here for the bullshit. He shoved a woman out of his way of the front desk as she looked at him and was about to tell him off but she knew by the look on his face, he was not in the mood for it.

"Can I help you sir?" Janet the receptionist asked

"Yeah, Where is your prick of a boss Ryan! Where is that no good son of a bitch?!" He fumed as all the other workers around looked at Alex with shock and disbelief

"Uhm sir, he's in a meeting right now and I don't know how long he'll be."

"Is he in his office?"

"Yes, but I'm sure he'll be done in about thirty minutes, so why don't you have a seat." Janet politely offered as he looked past her and headed straight towards the office door

"Uh sir, you can't see him yet. He doesn't like to be bothered when he's in a meeting." She said trying to stop him but he kept going and wasn't paying her any attention
