~Valerie's POV~

Today is the first day of school for Jeremiah and I'm really excited for him. Last week he was somewhat thrilled about the whole concept, but last night not so much. Maybe it's the first day jitters and he's a little nervous, but I know he will do just fine.

"Wake up Jeremiah, time for your first day of school!" I said happily

He groaned, "No mommy, I don't want to get up now." He said rolling over

"That is not the attitude to have, come on and get up so you can have breakfast." He got out of the bed and went over to the bathroom to start getting ready.

I made up his bed and then I went over to his closest and picked his outfit, "Your clothes is on the bed when you're done."

"Okay." He said sadly. I walked down the hall to get breakfast started and then Lilly came bailing out of her room

"Good morning mommy!" She said brightly

"Well good morning my ray of sunshine, how are you this morning?"

"Good. Does Jermy still have to go to school?"

"Yes Jermy still has to go. I see you've already gotten yourself together." I say noticing her Disney Princess shirt and matching pants with her hair in a ponytail

"I was hungry, so I thought I would get up and then you could make me breakfast." She said grabbing my hand

"What a smart child you are." I said sarcastically

"Oh, thank you mommy."

I laughed, "You're welcome."

I had made Lilly some pancakes and bacon first because if I would've waited for the others to come down, she would just stare at me until I gave her food so I got her out of the way

"Hi Jermy." She said lively

"Hey Lilly." He said unenthused and came into the kitchen where I was

"I'll have your food out in just a sec, I'm almost done."

"Mom, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah go ahead."

"Can I just stay home today."

I stopped what I was doing and looked at him, "And why do want to stay home?"

"Because I've never been away from you before."

"Oh yeah and what about when daddy and I leave you at your grandparents."

"That's different, I know grandma and grandpa but I don't know those people. Can I please just stay?" He asked as he held on tight to me and gave me his puppy dog eyes

Ryan came in the kitchen and started pouring himself some water, "Ryan, do you think it could be possible if Jeremiah could.."

"No. I already know what you're gonna say and the answer is no. He's going whether he wants to or not."

"But daddy,"

"I'm not going to argue with you about this. Now you are going to school." Jeremiah let me go and walked out the kitchen with his head down

"I think you're being too hard on him." I said

"No I'm not. The problem is, you baby him too much and he thinks that whatever he doesn't want to do, he'll ask you and you won't make him do it. He needs to learn that sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to do and it will help him to become a better man in life."
