Ryan is a no nonsense type of guy and isn't one to do the relationship thing, it's not his style.
He's more of a hit it and quit it type of guy; some label him as a bad boy, but he's just living life the way he wants to....
That is, until one day...
"I just don't understand why we have to do this, we have nothing to prove you even said so yourself. Let's just cancel and focus on going back home soon." Valerie said trying to reason with Ryan
"If we cancel, not only will he hang it over your head but you are showing him that he still has control over your emotions and feelings. No matter what he does it's going to effect you and he wants to continue to hurt you until you give in. I want you to prove to yourself and him that you can do this and that he can't dictate your feelings anymore." He said while fixing his tie
"I know deep down I can do it, but when it's time I just can't seem to get out the box."
Ryan put on his suit jacket and reached down to grab Valerie's hand and pulled her from the bed, "What's the one promise that I've always kept when we are together?" He asked lightly stroking the back of her hand with his thumb
"You'll always protect me."
"And what else?"
"You'll always be there with me, no matter what."
"That hasn't changed, I'll be right there with you. I know you're a little scared but that's okay, I won't let anything happen to you. You're always safe with me." He smiled while looking her in the eyes
After the encouraging words from Ryan, she was ready to face Malik head on. She knew deep down that she could do it, but she felt extra confident knowing that Ryan would be by her side.
They made it to the restaurant and the butterflies in her stomach had dissipated and she was feeling more at ease and relaxed when she looked over to her side and saw Ryan standing right there while he held on to her hand.

She walked with ease into the restaurant as the fitted material of her dress clung to her body. They spotted Malik and Alaina at a nearby table and Ryan and Valerie made their way over to them.
As soon as they approached the table, Malik looked up from the menu and gave them a sly smile, "I almost thought you two wouldn't show." Ryan slid into the booth first and then Valerie proceeded
"We didn't want to disappoint." Ryan said.
"I'm glad you came." Alaina said happily

After they took some time to decide on what they wanted, they finally ordered they're food. The whole time Valerie was wishing that this night could go by quicker.
"So how long have you two been married?" Alaina asked
"Six years." Valerie answered
"Wow six years, what's your secret?"
"We just love each other and are very open." Valerie concluded
"I'm sure in these six years you have a kid, right?"
