When Worlds Collide

26. Last night

~Valerie's POV~

Time is ticking, I have less than 24 hours till the wedding. I'm so nervous, excited, conflicted, everything. I just don't know what kind of an emotion I should be in.

I've been at Ryan's place almost all day because his mom wants to go over a few last minute things with me. When Ryan and I told his parents about us getting married, I seriously thought they were gonna throw a party. They were dancing around, singing, clapping it was outrageously funny. Every since then this is all they could talk about.

They even asked to meet my family, but I would rather wait till the wedding because it's already stressful enough going into the wedding, I don't need to worry about if I need to referee at my own wedding.

I heard a car door slam and I went to the door to be greeted by Lina, she wants me to call her that. "Hello Valerie you look wonderful." She said giving me a hug

"Thank you Lina, you look great yourself."

"Look I even got on board with your style, check me out." She had on a Pink Floyd t-shirt and jeans with a few holes in them and some flip flops.

"I approve of the outfit choice." I said closing the door smiling

"I think this should be your wedding outfit. It's so very comfortable and carefree." She said sitting at the barstool

"I think Ryan would have a massive heart attack if I showed up like that." I said sitting next to her. "Would you like anything to drink before I get to comfortable."

"No thank you I'm fine. I wanted to ask, how are you doing? You're less than a day away from one of the biggest events in your life."

"Honestly, it's scary. I wanna throw up at any second of the day but when I think about it overall, it's all for the man I love."

"I felt the same when it was getting closer for me to marry Vlad, I almost called off the whole thing. But then I realized that he is what made me truly happy. And we've had our ups and downs but through it all, I love him even more."

"I feel much safer when I'm around Ryan. I feel like no one can hurt me."

"That's when you know, that you're in love."

"I must've been in love with him for quite some time, I've had this feeling almost every since I met him, but it was a little different back then."

"Most importantly, are you ready to start a new life?"

"I'm always up for a challenge. I know it's gonna be hard, but after what I've been through, I'm sure I can manage."

"When should I expect grandkids?!" She asked excitingly

"We haven't actually talked about children. Our focus has been on the wedding and making sure everything is in order."

"What about a honeymoon? I'm sure there's talk about that."

"A few times. He never really went into specifics about it, but if time permits I'm sure we can go on one."

"Do you want a honeymoon?"

"Yes, I just don't have any ideas about what to do. I usually lack in the department of good ideas."

"A good idea would be going to the islands."

"I did always wanted to go to Cancún."

"There you go, I just gave you an idea." She said smiling

Later on after my talk with Lina, I planned to pick Sammi up from the airport. It feels like forever since I last saw her and even if we do FaceTime and call each other, it still wasn't the same.
