97. House Party

It's the approaching weekend and Jeremiah was excited for this. He can now finally prove to both his mom and dad that he can be responsible and he can handle anything they give him.

"Now son, are you sure you can handle this?" Ryan asked

"Positive, you can trust me that everything will be just fine."

"Watching after your brothers and sisters will be a big responsibility."

"A responsibility that I'm willing to take, I will prove to you that I can do this." Jeremiah said confidently

"I'll hold you to it." Valerie came downstairs with her bag and looked at Jeremiah with a sorrowful look

"Should I stay here to make sure things will be okay?" She asked

"No mom, I have everything under control. There's nothing you need to worry about, trust me I won't let you two down."

She looked at Ryan and sighed, "Alright, I guess there's nothing else left for me to say."

"Alright kids, your mom and I are going to be out for the weekend and Jeremiah is going to watch you. Do what he says and if not you'll have to answer to me when I get back. We'll be checking in on you from time to time, so make sure to answer the phone. Be good and Beavis and Butthead, you especially behave." Ryan said pointing to the twins

"Why you gotta single us out?" Zayn asked

"Force of habit. Here's $200 in case you get hungry and call if you need anything."

"And do not turn the house into a frat house, I do not want to come back and see that someone tepeed the house." Valerie said

"You got nothing to worry about, everything will be just fine here. Now go on before you miss your flight." Jeremiah said ushering them out the door

"Bye guys, have a safe trip." Lilly said

They waved goodbye to the kids and got in the limo. "Are you sure we made the right decision on letting them stay to the house by themselves?" Valerie asked

"I think so, the kids are becoming more independent now and I think it's time for them to show us how responsible they can be. We won't know what they can do until we give them a chance, besides it's only a weekend." He said

"And Pompeii was destroyed in a day."

"By a volcano that hadn't erupted in like four hundred years."

"And the twins are that volcano, as soon as we leave it's going to be chaos."

He scooted closer to her and wrapped his arms around her, "Just give em a chance, they might surprise you." He said putting his chin on her shoulder

"The only reason you're saying that is because you want some and you want it without any interruptions, otherwise you'd be second guessing this whole thing as well." She said folding her arms

"Damn right I want some and I'm gonna get some too. Do you know how long I've waited to have you all to myself and I don't have to worry about one of the kids bothering us, so yeah I'm gonna take advantage of this opportunity and I'm gonna enjoy it."

She sighed, "I guess this mini vacation wouldn't hurt, it does feel kinda nice that I don't have to worry about everything."

"That's the spirit and like always, we're gonna have some fun."

"Alright everyone, I'm in charge so that means you have to do everything I tell you to." Jeremiah said while standing in front of his siblings as they sat on the couch
