You clenched your fist, eyes breaming with tears. You brushed your fingers through your hair and scoffed while pacing back and forth the room. As you clicked your head to the buff bodyguard with brown locks, your heart shattered disarray of pieces. Marching towards him with wrath engulfing you, you grasped the collar of his jacket.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU PROTECT HIM?!"you raged with fury.

"I-I'm sorry,"he stammered with his head hung low.

You tightened your grip onto his jacket even more, making him flinch. "THEN HE WOULDN'T BE HERE! WHAT WERE YOU DOING?!"

He heaved a sigh, biting his lower lip in disappointment. Wonho marched towards you and seized both your wrist and pulled it further away from his collar. A few days after you encountered a traumatic abduction, you experienced a devastating news which crumbled you down. Your father had a gun shot while he was commuting for work in New York. Regardless of having a bodyguard, he failed to protect your father and thus he was hospitalised. Investigation was still ongoing and the suspect was yet to be identified.

"Y/N, stop." Wonho's voice was stern.

"YOU CALL YOURSELF A BODYGUARD?"you hollered once more but was dragged out of your father's room by Wonho.

Wonho pulled you to the resting area and released your wrist once arrived. You shot daggers at him, a tear already trickling down your cheek.

"This is a hospital,"reminded Wonho.

"What if Appa won't survive?! Am I going back to being an orphan?!"you blurted out.

"Do you think your father would leave you just like that? Where is your faith in him?"bombarded Wonho.

Your world became darker than before. Wonho was perfect to the eye but fragile underneath. He scrutinized your now wet face, trying to connect with your heart. He could have not meddle with your emotions. Perhaps, he didn't have to stay since his mission was to protect you at all cost.

He thought his mission was over. Yet, the glassy layer of tears from your eyes penetrated his soul. You were a glass figurine which was on the verge of falling off a cliff. He inched closer and wrapped his arms around you. You sunk into the warmth of his side, the depressing pain disappeared like rain on summer earth.

Cocooned in his warm embrace, your heart felt lighter. "I'm sure your father would want to stay with you forever. Pray hard, that he may live. For now, let the almighty determine his fate."

Your ears perked up. His comfort was enough to soothe you. His words gave you a bit of hope. His warmth melted your fatigue away.

"I may be just a bodyguard but at the very least, I want to protect your wonderwall,"he added as he rubbed your arms.

"A-appa will be o-okay right?"you stammered in between sobs.

"I'm sure he will."

After 5 years...

You slapped your friend's hand and watched as she took over your spot. You headed over to the bench located at the resting area to take a break after playing in the netball court for very long.

"I'm hungry,"blurted your member who was also resting.

"Me too,"you pouted.

You headed over to your water bottle and loosened the bottle cap. You gulped down the water but your eyes enlarged when your friends called you.

"Y/N! Watch out!"

You clicked your head to your team members and froze when a familiar buff figure stood infront of you with the ball in his hands. Gasps filled the air afterwards. He threw the ball back at the girls before spinning on his heels to meet your gaze.

You removed the water bottle from your mouth and wiped the drooling water with your sleeves. You blinked, flabbergasted by his presence.

"I'm your bodyguard by the code name X14. I have reported to my duty,"he said.

You scrutinized Wonho from head to toe. He looked exactly the same as before when he was your bodyguard. When the suspect who shot your father was found, Wonho's mission in protecting you from danger was over. Since then, your life was fine just like any other day. You tightened your bottle cap and looked up at him.

"Am I in danger again?"you chuckled.

His lips lifted upward as he shook his head. "We'll go to Namsan tower after your training ends."

You weren't even surprised. Definitely, he did a background check on you to know your personal information just like what he did before when you first met him. After training, you would go up to Namsan tower and admire the panoramic view of Seoul. It helps to relieve your stress. You nodded your head at Wonho and he waited till your training end.

--

Above the modern city of Seoul was the sky moving in slow motion. The clouds was barely perceptible and the bright sun gleamed brightly. The sky was as pretty as a million dollar painting.

"Why do you go here often?"interrupted Wonho.

A small smile crept across your face. You breathed in the fresh air while resting your arms against the railing. "To remind myself that our great troubles are insignificant to this world,"you responded.

"Remember the time when I knew I was adopted? I had a hard time accepting reality but when I looked up to the sky, I realised I can't change back time. Since then, I went here to reflect on myself,"you added.

You clicked your head to Wonho with a cocked eyebrow. "So why did you come back?"

"I was given a new mission to take good care of a member of Korea's national netball team. As usual, your father assigned me to,"Wonho replied.

You couldn't help but chuckle at your father's choice. He was still the same as before. Regardless, you knew he cared for you like how a true father would do of his daughter.

"Until when?"

"Until you resign."

You nodded your head in response. Your gaze shifted back to the vast blue sky. "Wonho,"you called.

Your eyes averted away from him. "Thanks for being there for me."

Wonho patted your head. The corners of his mouth lifted up into a smile. You were just 18 back then and now 23 years old. You may not notice the small changes in your life but despite Wonho knowing you through a short period of time, he was already introduced to the different aspects of your life. From a fragile figure who got abducted, experienced a near loss of your father, knew the truth hidden for 18 years that you are not your father's biological child. Now at 23, you became a netball athlete, representing your nation with success and positivity heading down for you.

Wonho saw you grew.

"I may be just a bodyguard but at the very least, I want to protect your wonderwall,"he reiterated.

You clicked your head up to him, familiar of those words. Since then, you knew being a bodyguard doesn't just concern people's lives but also, their emotions.
