She lay in the bed wondering when she let herself overcome by her emotions the last time. And what emotions were those? Anger, hate, sadness? Regrets filled her mind. She replayed the memory of how Levi looked and how he looked at her. A broken man. She didn't ask before she attacked him. She didn't know what happened and yet she condemned him. She sighed and rolled over in bed. She was supposed to return to Trost today. Her room was empty because all the things were already packed in the carriage that was supposed to take her away and yet she was unable to leave. She sat down and lazily looked at the desk, where an unfilled report awaited to her attention. Mission successful. Yes, Lobov will go to court. Everything turned out as it should. Or not? She stood up angrily and walked around the room. She massaged her face and went out into the hallway, where she looked around. She had nothing more to do here and she decided to say goodbye to her father. Two days off after each expedition is ordered, so she could see soldiers around the corridors and outdoor areas. Those who survived. She knocked on her father's office door, which was ajar. Mike was inside with Commandant Shadis to whom she saluted.

"Theia. Thanks for cooperation. Are you going back to Trost, now?" He asked her.

"Yes sir. I just came to say goodbye. I'll give the message to Commandant Pixis as soon as I return," she answered him respectfully, while smiling at Mike, to whom she wanted to apologize for her behavior yesterday.

"I have something for him that I would like you to bring to him on my behalf," Shadis continued, handing Erwin the folder he was holding in his hand. He nodded his head and left the room.

"So. I'm leaving. I hope to see you soon," she smiled at both men and left just behind the commandant. They were going to the second floor, where the highest-ranking officers had their offices. They passed through a narrow corridor by a single large window. She looked up at it and her eyes fell on the opposite building where Levi was sitting on the balcony ledge.

"This is a list of soldiers who wish to join the military garrison," he handed her a file from his office as she waited outside. Theia hesitantly took it in her hands.

"Again?" she asked, scanning the names.

"I can't be surprised after the disaster that happened yesterday," he sighed.

"Commander Shadis, what exactly happened?" She looked up at him questioningly.

"The storm. No one could see ahead and many titans attacked us. Smoke signals didn't work and fighting them was counterproductive. We couldn't use the gear... We couldn't do anything," he looked down at the ground and Theia felt a great sense of pity for him. She saluted and turned to leave. "That man. Levi. He singlehandedly killed eight titans in a matter of seconds," he added in a low voice and she turned around in surprise.

"So, if you had such a hero there, then why so many dead?" She raised her voice but immediately calmed down.

"What is the character of the hero Thea?" She stopped and looked down. Without a word, she left the commander, studying the record of the converting soldiers. She walked past the large window again and noticed that Levi was still sitting in the same place. She sighed and closed the folder heading after him. After a few minutes, out of breath, she came out of the next floor of the building and carefully stepped onto the balcony. He sat there motionless, lost in thought. She didn't know how to address him.

"Do you have anything else on your mind Miss Smith from the military garrison?" he surprised her with his question. She swallowed hard and walked closer to him. He did not turn to her, so she sat on the ledge from the inside, watching the blue sky.

"I have a lot on my mind. Maybe I shouldn't say everything," after a short silence, she turned her gaze to his face. She had never seen him like this. His eyes were red, with huge black circles under them. He was deathly pale and his blank gaze followed something in the distance that no one could see. As she looked at him, her eyes fell on his lap, where his hands were placed. His hands were bloody, with large wounds and covered in bruises. She began to curse herself.
