Chapter XIII. Everyone is an enemy

Trost District July 9 , 9:45 a.m. year 850

It had been four years since she wore her special unit uniform. The corset, in which she tucked the weapons, fitted her perfectly, and fully armed, she stepped into the crowded streets of Trost.

Alma was killed by Kenny, who had joined the military police. If he has something in common with this too, there is a problem. Using the gear, she reached the roof, from where she checked the surroundings and blew the colorful flags, as evidence of the royal family's celebrations, out of sight to spot military police distributing food rations in the square. She exhaled, hoping that Levi wanted to escort Eren and Historia directly under the protection of Commander Pyxis, so she would be able to meet him. Suddenly her attention was caught by a speeding wagon, which pulled two people out of the crowd and continued on. The others just stared and she knew who was hiding under the disguise. He was wearing a cloak, but she knew it was him.

"Levi, what are you planning?" She looked around again to spot Nifa and the other members of Hanje's team hiding behind chimneys nearby. She decided to move towards them when her bright ears caught the sound of chains. Her heart raced as she saw Levi join Nife and she moved with lightning speed straight towards them only to grab Nifa at the last moment and pull her aside, saving her from a bullet from the gun. Frightened, she hid Nifa behind the chimney when she heard malicious laughter, which was interrupted by a shot and one member of Hanje's team fell dead on the roof.

"Little one. Long time no see," the white-haired woman climbed the wooden bags. She was holding a weapon in one hand, and in the other she was dragging a scythe, which creaked uncomfortably.

"Staria," Theia whispered, horrified as the woman flew over Theia's head using her gear, smiling very arrogantly at her.

"Kennyyyy!" Theia heard Levi's voice full of agony. She turned sharply in Staria's direction as a huge group of assassins gathered around them, pointing their weapons at them. Before they could fire she jumped off the roof and slid down the bags to get to the air when she noticed Levi doing the same. It was the first time he had noticed her and she could clearly see his shock.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" He pointed his anchors into the next building and in her close proximity flew straight to the place where he had seen the carriage with Eren last time.

"Don't forget that you are on my territory. No titans, but bandits and criminals," she used his own words. "What about your leg?" Levi snapped back after her question. Does she really care about his health in a situation like this? Dodging more shots, Theia grabbed Levi's arm to bounce back and stab one of Kenny's men with her blade.

"What is that white-haired bitch doing here? Of all the people in the world, she had to hook up with Kenny?" Levi shouted, noticing Kenny's shadow on the ground. Dodging his shot, his gaze found Theia, who dodged Stara's scythe. She aimed the wires and stabbed through another of the bandits to rejoin abnormally fast Levi.

"Get rid of Kenny, I'll take care of the others," she announced and then disappeared from his sight.

"Where are you going?" He turned, but didn't see her anymore. "Shit," he retorted and headed straight to the center of the square, where he burst into a local bar. Theia hid behind the building, Kenny jumped into and watched the individual rooftops where his men were hiding. She carefully moved to the nearest one to hide behind the chimney and get closer to the pair of soldiers. She very carefully pulled the poisoned needle out of her hair and stuck it unnoticed into the neck of one of them. The man fainted to the ground and before his ally noticed, Theia mercilessly cut his throat. She pulled him behind the chimney and let his hot blood run down her hands. When she was sure he was dead, she moved on. She grabbed the smaller woman, covering her mouth and stabbing through the heart, when suddenly a spiked chain cut through the poor woman's body, revealing Theia, who suddenly drew all the attention. Staria jumped onto the roof, facing Theia.
