Theia ducked and Levi used his gear to jump into the air, pulling himself up to opponent with a wire and cutting his face severely with his sword. Man laughed madly, turned around and let blood drip onto the roof. He aimed his crossbow and fired a full cartridge at Levi at once. He ran around him in a circle, following Theia, who was still kneeling motionless.
"One of his children? Rules?" She whispered to herself, her thoughts racing uncontrollably.
"Thea! Now is not the time to think!" Levi yelled in her direction, jumping into the air and trying to find a way to attack between the arrows. Theia looked up; eyes filled with horror.
"Yes Theia! Watch me kill him!" The man laughed madly. "That's why you shouldn't fall in love honey, because it always ends up the same. He's going to die," he yelled in her direction and she let out a resigned breath, watching the wooden roof below her. Levi jumped right in front of her, knelt down and grabbed her shoulders.
"Come to your senses!" he urged her in a breathless voice, looking into her frightened eyes. A couple of arrows pierced his back at once and he hissed painfully. "I told, something like this couldn't hurt me at all," he pulled the darts from his own back and tossed them to the ground. Theia looked at his face in disbelief. She smiled gently.
"Fucking Ackerman," the man grumbled, reloading his cartridge. Theia leaned to the Levi's ear and whispered something into him. She pulled away and kissed his cheek gently. Wordlessly, Levi hammered the anchors into the building behind Theia and swung that way. She put the dagger in her other hand and took out the other one. She put them both on the other side and assumed her fighting stance.
"Do you think that if you frown at me, you will make me afraid?" The man pointed the crossbow at her with a smile and fired the first arrows, which she followed one by one with her eyes. She counted. She dodged them at last possible moment and she faced him again. "What are you trying to do?" He laughed and aimed again. Levi whizzed through the air and beat off another attack with his swords, landing in front of him and attacking at close range. The man stopped him and aimed his weapon, but Levi successfully dodged another shot as well. Theia ran from the spot and replaced Levi, who retreated using the gear. She jumped to the adjacent building and using wires she wrapped around the turret came back, gained speed and she flipped in the air, avoiding another shot. She pulled out her blades and hit the attacker for the first time in both shoulders. She spun again in the air and landed right next to Levi who was leaning against the wall.
"Again," she ordered him, not noticing the other arrows he was pulling out of his hands. He bounced off the wall and ran towards him, exchanging sheathed blades that hit the ground, Theia smiled. She ran to them, took them between her fingers and threw them in their direction. Levi jumped up and bounced off his body, only to notice his old blade fly past his head. He snorted and immediately registered the second one, spinning in the air and clearing the way for the blade to sink into the man's shoulder. Furiously, he pulled it out and aimed his weapon at Levi to launch another shower of poisoned arrows at him. Levi dodged them skillfully and returned to Theia, who was being kept behind the chimney.
"Are you trying to kill me?" He snapped at her angrily.
"You dodged, didn't you?" Theia smiled. "Again," she ordered and Levi checked his bombs.
"I'm running out of gas," he remarked.
"Take mine," she said immediately, and with one click she ejected the gas bombs, which landed noisily on the ground. "They're holding me back anyway," she added, twirling the blades in her hands and returning them to their place below her knees. "I'll buy you some time, get ready for another attack," Levi immediately started exchanging bombs and Theia ran towards the opponent. Using backflips, she got right in front of him, jumped up, and spun in mid-air to kick him. He covered the attack and scratched her leg with the metal blades between his fingers. He aimed the crossbow at her and she fell to the ground by her hands, turned on them and kicked his already firing crossbow with her foot. So, she deflected his trajectory and the rest of the arrows landed right next to Levi's feet. He rolled his eyes and deployed the second bomb he secured. He drew his new blades and walked towards the attacker to see Theia who was grabbed by both legs and tossed away. She bounced back and jumped back to him, pulling out her knives, both of which she slammed into his hand. Levi continued running, but for the first time his knee buckled. He gritted his teeth, pushed through the pain and kept running. He stuck the anchor just behind the enemy, swung and wrapped his body in the wires. The man turned behind him with a smile, aimed the crossbow and fired. But this time, arrows didn't fly in his direction but towards Theia. Levi's pupils widened in surprise. He immediately let go of wires, jumped in front of her and placed his swords defensively in front of him, deflecting the shower of arrows. A large number of them stuck into his body despite his efforts. But he protected Theia, who ran past him without hesitation, drew her swords, jumped into the air and smiled.
