"Doctor Jeager?" She looked at the man's face in surprise.

"What does that mean? What happened to Mikasa's parents?!" Terrified, he walked to Thea and grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Is that your son?" She asked him and he nodded uncertainly. "Together with that girl, they killed three robbers who murdered the residents of this house," she said seriously.

"That is not possible! They're just children!" He shook his head in disbelief. Eren looked down.

"She is telling you the truth, Dad," he admitted.

"Let's go out," Theia broke the heavy silence and led the children out of the house. The doctor was walking behind them, still in shock. "I'll send someone from the military garrison to retrieve the corpses," Theia announced, returning the long dagger to its place.

"No. If you send someone. What will happen to my son?" Mr. Jeager asked in frustration.

"I'm the captain of the military garrison, you can't ask me to be quiet about it!"

"Not but..." Theia sighed.

"You are a respected doctor. You have to understand that those people don't deserve to just stay here,"

"I'll burn them," he said suddenly. Theia frowned. "Please. I understand that you are the captain and you have to make a record, but write there that it was self-defense and..."

"After all, it was self-defense. I will write a record and hide it, so that no one can get to it, and you promise me, that your son will avoid murderous practices," she smiled. "What will we do with that girl? Should I take her with me? I know an orphanage..." Mr. Jeager shook his head.

"I'll take her with me," he added, looking at his son as he wrapped Mikasa red scarf around her neck. Theia smiled and shivered from the cold. She looked up at the night sky full of stars. It was cold and clear. Winter is fast approaching.

The very next day, she loaded the cart with a lot of food and toys that she had recently bought at the local market. In return for her silence, Dr. Jeager offered to visit an orphanage in the underground city with her, where he gave a free examination of all children. She enthusiastically returned through the city, where the first snow began to fall. Many scouts had already filled the local bars as they had winter holiday. Her thoughts wandered to Levi. What does he look like when he sees the snow falling now? She shook her head and felt like slapping herself. She aimed to the base. Immediately after her arrival, she was overwhelmed by another job. She missed the times when she had more freedom. She was starting to feel, like her energy started to disappear.

The winter months came and the walls were covered with thick layer of snow. Theia sat in the office, wrapped in a sweater, sipping mulled wine. Winter had some advantages. Due to the lack of sun and heat, the titans were less active and there were even no scouting expeditions due to the weather. It was the only time there was relative peace, except of this freezing weather.

"Papchch," Theia wiped her nose with a handkerchief. "Well, that's excellent," she pointed out and tilted her head, which was spinning.

"That's because you're overworking yourself, captain. I was wondering why you often come back late at night," Rico pointed out sarcastically, placing another stack of papers in front of Theia's nose. She rolled her eyes.

"What is this, for the wall of Mária?" She asked and looked with disgust at the pile that was forming in front of her.

"Training records, our supplies, and a list of wall repairs that need to be done during the winter," Rico explained to her calmly. Theia dropped her head on the table.
