"What the fuck was that..."

"Are you okay?" Levi's concerned voice interrupted her question. She looked up at him to realize he was scared. He carefully lowered them both to the ground, but as soon as her feet touched the path he pressed her against the wall, inspecting her with a searching gaze. "She hurt you," he whispered, his fingers touching her torn clothing.

"I'm okay. But who was that?" She looked at the night streets.

"You're bleeding!" Levi cut her off again.

"It's just a scratch. I'm fine," she smiled to reassure him, but he pulled her into his arms.

"I shouldn't have asked you to go to the walls without gear," he whispered into her hair.

"You couldn't have known something like this would happen," she felt his body shaking.

"I don't know what to do. I'll probably lock you in the room and hide the key," Theia was worried by his sentence.

"You are not serious, are you?" She asked him as she pulled away from him. Her answer was silence. "I'll pretend I didn't hear that,"

"How long do I have to watch you being in danger," Theia smiled.

"I am a soldier, Levi. Just..."

"Furlan, Isabel, my mother. It doesn't matter if you are a soldier or not. They're dead!" Levi snapped at her, looking directly into her eyes. "If something happens to you, I can't handle it," Theia walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

"Nothing will happen to me because with you I am stronger than ever before," she assured him. "Well please. Did you know those people?" She asked him with interest.

"No," he answered her bluntly.

"Don't you know why they were after you?"

"I'm the son of an underground prostitute, what would anyone want from me," he stared into Theia's thinking face.

"Don't talk about yourself like that," she corrected him and leaned against the wall behind her with a sharp breath. She raised her gaze to the sky again. A few minutes ago, everything seemed so peaceful. She would like to enjoy the peace a little more. She put her daggers back into place and stared into Levi's angry face. "What?" She asked under the weight of his gaze on her slight injury that she didn't even feel. Levi turned his back to her.

"I'll escort you to the base. If they happen to be waiting somewhere around the corner," he said in a calm voice. Theia walked up to him and gently took his hand. She leaned against his shoulder and closed her eyes.

"Stay with me," they walked together towards the military garrison base. They walked in silence a few tens of meters to the gate, past the new herb garden, to the main door.

"You're not very careful when you leave the open window," he remarked irritably as soon as they entered her room.

"If you forgot, you kidnapped me. Somehow, I didn't have the opportunity to close it," she smiled.

Without another word, he opened the closet, where he found a first aid kit. Theia walked over to the stove where she set water for tea. She felt his hands caressing her back and then he forcibly turned her towards him to carefully inspect her injury.

"It's nothing. I don't even feel it," she assured him, but she let him to pull her shirt out of her pants and treat her wound.

"You should feel it. Why do you keep taking such risks," he put down the alcohol he used to clean the surface scratch and applied a piece of cloth to fix it. He returned the used tools to the briefcase, which he closed and put back in the closet. Theia adjusted her clothes and walked over to him. She stopped right behind him and stroked his back with both hands. She straddled his hips and laced her fingers around his waist. She rested her head against his body and closed her eyes. "You're still so tense," He closed the closet and touched her hands.
