"Captain! I'm so sorry!" Purely shocked Petra screamed, and almost immediately dropped to her knees to pick up the shards from the floor with her bare hands. Theia knelt down beside her and moved her hands away.

"Stop it. You're going to hurt yourself," she stopped her and stood up again to find the broom Levi had placed next to the fireplace.

"Please forgive me," an unhappy Petra picked up a wooden tray from the ground while Theia swept away the shards.

"Nothing happened. It was just tea," Theia tried to calm her down, but she could clearly see the tears forming in her eyes.

"What are you doing with those bare feet? Do you want to get hurt?" Levi, like a ghost, appeared from the darkness and snatched the broom from Theia's hands. Then Petra wanted to hide her face with a tray and disappear from the earth. "What did you want here so late at night?" Levi asked seriously.

"Sorry, captain. I suspected that you would still be working, that's why I made you the tea you like so much. I didn't know there was a captain with you. I saw Riko leaving in the evening. I thought you left with her," Theia measured her with a serious look. Petra has an honest interest in Levi's well-being so she made him two mugs of tea. Haha. Does that girl even realize that they are in a guardhouse of a military garrison? Why should she leave at all? There isn't a single reason why she wouldn't spend the night with her husband when she has the chance. Petra noticed Theia's burning gaze and immediately lowered her head.

"Eren is okay?" Levi asked as if he didn't listen to her explanation and swept all the shards into one pile.

"Yes. He is safely locked in the cell," she assured him in a low voice.

"Then don't waste time anymore and go to sleep. I need you in good shape and rested tomorrow," he commanded her coldly and Petra nodded.

"Good night captains," she wished them both and immediately turned to leave. Levi lit a candle to find a shovel for shards, which Theia used and stepped out into the cold hallway. She closed the door, leaning against it and crossing her arms over her chest.

"Two cups?" Theia asked into the night silence. Petra stopped and watched the stone floor for a moment, as if considering an appropriate response, before finally turning to face Theia and smiled nervously.

"Literally nothing escapes your attention, captain," Petra hid a strand of hair behind her ear and watched her own shoes. "You don't have to worry. My love for him will remain buried in my heart forever," she whispered. "I would never think of getting involved with a married man, but I can't help myself. I want to spend time with him," she continued in a very shy voice. Theia let out a breath.

"Levi is your captain, it's natural that you spend time with him," Petra looked up in surprise.

"But that tea..."

"If Levi wants to spend time alone with you and enjoy a cup of tea while talking about work, that's completely fine," Theia interrupted her objection, grabbing the doorknob to prevent Levi from entering the hallway. "I don't have the slightest right to forbid anything to you or Levi. But I warn you, Petra. I have my own ways of dealing with those who try to cross the line," she added and turned to the door.

"I loved him even before you got married," Petra stopped her urgently. "I don't know the truth of the rumors about your past as a secret assassin, but I believe the captain deserves someone to be there for him whenever he suffers and grieves for his lost comrades.
