District Holst, March 22, 10:15, year 851
"It's quite possible that if you hypnotize that horizon long enough, you'll summon them with some mysterious magic," Theia rolled her eyes when she heard Sebastian's teasing voice.
"Don't you have anything to do?" She asked as he leaned against the walls and placed his massive ax beside him.
"You are my job. I promised to Shorty that I would watch over you," his caring, brown eyes moved from her tired face to her belly, which was growing to gigantic proportions. Most of the scouting unit was participating in an expedition tasked with eliminating the Titans beyond the walls of Maria. Theia let out a breath, freezing steam forming from her mouth as Sebastian draped a wool cloak over her shoulders. They both listened to the peaceful silence that engulfed the lonely district where only the administrative members of survey corps, the cook and a couple of assistants were located, along with Sebastian and Asher who were in charge of Theia's security.
"It's probably the most dangerous mission they've ever faced and I'm just sitting in safety again," she commented irritably, to which Sebastian smiled.
"Oh, your fears are right. If you were there like that, you could overpower everyone with that giant belly. Death to titans!" He exclaimed ironically, causing Theia to smile softly as well. "You gave command to Levi, that was the best decision. That guy won't threaten a single soldier. They will definitely be back soon," he reassured her and hid her in his arms, as he noticed how her lips were turning blue. "Are you taking the medicine for anemia?" He asked carefully to which Theia nodded.
"Harald created more effective ones. I feel better after them," she assured him, and Sebastian nodded.
"Your medication is the reason you dragged him here and locked him in prison?" Sebastian stroked Theia's back with a large palm and looked into the distance himself, where snowflakes covered the grass. "I don't believe him," he added and licked his lips irritably because he felt withdrawal symptoms from the lack of nicotine.
"That's exactly why he is here," after her silent words, Sebastian pulled away from her to pull a box of cigars from pocket. "They should have returned in the morning. What the fuck is Levi doing?" She snorted irritatedly and clutched her stomach, because she felt a strange pressure in it since morning. Sebastian frowned at her nervousness.
"Don't worry, I'm sure..."
"Don't tell me I shouldn't be afraid! My husband is in titan territory! He is being attacked from all sides by giant monsters and possibly even enemy units who are waiting to wipe us off the world!" She stopped him with a firm voice until Sebastian stopped the match just in front of the cigar he was trying to light. The match burned in the silence of the surroundings and Theia looked away in shame. "I'm sorry," she whispered. Her hair was blown by the cold wind and she took off his cloak, which she returned to the hands of a startled Sebastian. But he didn't have time to catch it because his body froze. The cigarette fell from his mouth as he stared in shock at the darkening sky.
"Have you ever seen bird that big?" He asked and Theia looked up in irritation. She frowned and walked over to the walls where she placed her cold palms. Both of them fixed their gazes up and watched the approaching, dark spot in the sky.
"It can't be bird,"
"So what the fuck is that?" Sebastian took a step forward just before the giant thing in the sky split into two and was approaching the walls at a very high speed. Doubts took over his body and he reached on his back to pull out a massive ax as the object in the sky took on a sharper shape. An oblong body of some kind of machine, on the sides was something like the wings of a bird, and in front a spinning propeller. They had never seen anything like it before. The shocked eyes of Theia and Sebastian watched as people jumped out of the machine and after falling a few meters pulled the string and a parachute formed above their heads. And then, it was clear to both of them that the attack was approaching. Gritting his teeth, Sebastian pulled Theia behind him and twirled the ax in his hands as a number of black cloaked enemies pulled out the exact same weapon that Theia had confiscated months ago. Before the wave of bullets flooded them, Asher jumped in front of the pair and immediately fired a full cartridge of poisoned arrows at the enemies. Some hit people, some parachutes, causing them to fall.
