The territory of the walls of Mary, September 8, 9:10 a.m. 850
"Levi, could you look ahead? Your staring makes me quite nervous," Theia finished one of the reports while still remembering the details and placed the paper in a neat pile as she looked at stressed Levi, not moving his sight from her, despite being in the saddle. The cart she was sitting on shifted a little, which caused her pile of documents to fall apart.
"Promise me one thing. When we get back, you put down your gear and sit at that commandant's desk and leave all the dirty work to me," he said seriously, keeping his sharp gaze on her.
"Please, at least look in front of you," she asked him irritably, to which Levi gritted his teeth. "Do you even realize that you are three months pregnant?" Theia glared at him and immediately looked around to see if anyone had noticed his remark.
"I'm well aware of that, but that doesn't mean you're going to push me away to a monastery," she replied in a slightly irritated but quiet voice. Levi rolled his eyes.
"I'm not trying to do anything like that, but using thunder spears? Sometimes I feel like you just want to piss me off," Theia looked up at him.
"These people around us needed to see me in action, otherwise they wouldn't entrust me with their lives," Levi exhaled irritatedly after her words and squeezed the bridle in his hands.
"I entrusted you with my life a long time ago," he whispered and looked away a little embarrassed.
"This expedition is my last. On the next one, you will take command," she announced and put the papers back in a pile. Levi frowned in surprise.
"Me?"
"You are the commander of the offensive. No one has as much respect among the soldiers as you do," Levi looked away uncertainly. He wasn't sure if her decision was the right one. He never felt like a competent commander. "Don't worry. It will only be for the time I give birth," she assured him and stood up on the cart to lean against its edge and put her finger between his eyes. "Stop frowning like that, you look scary," she stated and got back into the wagon that was approaching the Trost Walls. "Eren, do you think it would be possible for you to put the boulder away after we make sure there are no Titans in the walls of Mary?" She asked the boy who was staring coldly.
"Certainly ma'am," he answered confidently and Theia eyed him suspiciously. She couldn't explain it, but his eyes looked different, as if they had lost hope, and that was exactly why she didn't understand him. It was hope that they gained every day as they continued forward. "Ma'am, what will be your next move?" He asked her respectfully, but still coldly.
"We'll clear the entire island and immediately get allies beyond the island so we can defend ourselves effectively," Eren looked down after her answer.
"So our fight will never end," he added.
"I think people will fight until there's only one person left on the planet,"
"You want to lead us to war?" He asked what surprised Theia. She frowned at his strange tone of voice.
"Definitely not Eren, I just want us to be able to protect Paradis,"
"Do you think you can protect us when you get new allies and weapons?"
"Eren, is something wrong?" She entered into his question, looking seriously into his eyes as they followed the road ahead.
"It seems that our whole life is just a struggle and one great suffering, but that makes us strong," Theia smiled at his thought and shook her head.
