"That guy ..." Levi interrupted the silence in the room after he finished eating and put a spoon back into a bowl which he was still holding in his hands just only because it was still warm. Theia peeled her eyes from the map to look into his face, but he suddenly turned away. "Nothing, leave it," it will be almost two years since she knew him. She feels like she already perfectly understands his inconspicuous words or gestures by which he is desperately trying to express his true emotions. She put the pen on the table and walked over to him. She pulled an empty bowl out of his palms, sitting on his lap, where she snuggled close to his body and hid her head into his shoulder. She closed her eyes and perceived his hands that hugged her almost immediately.
"Something is bothering you?" She asked, barely audible.
"No," he replied simply, while gently stroking her back.
"Okay ..." she let herself be stroked for a few seconds until she took a breath. "That guy I was talking to in front of the door is called Asher. He is the one who fired those sleeping arrows at us underground. At first glance it may not seem, but he is capable and especially loyal to me," she stopped for a second. "And also, he's in love with me, but nothing happens between us, "she explained to him, too calmly. She felt as he swallowed bitterness, but he was silent.
"I don't understand why you are telling me," she smiled weakly at his words. Of course, and the nervousness she feels of him, is most likely just her imagination. She gently stroked his shoulder and got up to prepare warm tea. She took a kettle in her hands and put a fragrant mixture into the cups. "How many men did you sleep with before me?" His silent question echoed in the room, and Theia found that she spilled tea aside instead of a mug.
"Why do you ask me after that time?" She turned to him, and in the corner of the soul, she hoped, he would turn away his look again and the whole unpleasant conversation would end. But he didn't do anything like that. On the contrary. He looked directly into her eyes.
"Why not. You know about me," she laughed gently.
"Levi! You didn't have ... " she stopped in her speech, not wanting to look like she was making fun of him.
"Number as a number," his gaze made her nervous.
"Don't ask questions, you don't want to know," he frowned, getting out of the chair and walking to her in slow steps to stop just in front of her.
"So I will ask differently," she wondered when he became so pushy. "Did you sleep with someone as part of your job?" She really wanted to break away from his burning look.
"Yes," she answered, after a few seconds of torture silence.
"Did you sleep with Furlan for the same reason?" He asked again, in a serious voice.
"Yes," she saw his cheekbones, which showed up under the pressure of the gritted teeth.
"Okay," he turned away from her to continue preparing tea. Asher walked into the room without knocking together with his people who shouted at each other. Theia breathed in irritation.
"Boss. How long will that Royal Tea stink the air here?" One of them asked while scraping himself behind his ear with a knife.
"He will work with us," the noise increased even more and Theia breathed frustratedly again. Levi arrogantly turned to the group, with a cup in his hands, calmly drinking his tea. She felt like the first gray hair appeared on her head.
"The article you were talking about appeared in the newspapers. Our spies reported that a large group of military police got into the underground. They are looking for us," Asher decided to stop the difficult situation with unwillingness.
