Holst District, March 23, 8:30 a.m. 851
"Levi, why are you crying?" She wiped the wet drops from his face while his gaze was fixed on the ground.
"How long, Theia? How long do we have to fight? I'm so terribly tired," he raised his steely eyes to her and she noticed that he was crying blood. Shocked, she looked around to realize they were sitting on a pile of corpses of their fallen comrades. Her heart started pounding as frightened but all she could hear was a distant child's cry. "Tell me Theia. Is the blood on your hands dry yet?" He asked, trying to clean his dirty hands with the cloth he always wore around his neck.
"Levi, please. I... will do anything, ..."
"I'm just fucking murderer..." she shook her head unhappily after his harsh words.
She opened her eyes sharply and stared at the white plaster of the ceiling. She blinked a few times and turned her head in order to realize that she was lying in her bedroom, still in the Holst District, but she was unable to move. Her whole body was on fire and her head hurt while still shaking, as a result of the bad dream she had just woken up from. Her mind was starting to clear and she remembered everything that happened before she probably passed out. Her heart started to hurt at the memory of Sebastian and Asher, hanging from a wooden pillar, but her thoughts were interrupted by a small, almost inaudible sound, like a cat meowing. She turned her head in the opposite direction to notice the figure lying next to her body. Her eyes moved up and her gaze softened as she realized that Levi had been lying next to her the whole time. His eyes were closed, probably asleep. For a few moments she watched his pale, sleeping face, scratched by the glass, until she reached out to him with a hand on which she noticed a bandage, but she did not pay much attention to it and tried her best to sit up, but it seemed like a superhuman task.
"Stay lying and don't move. I don't want you to hurt yourself," she heard a hoarse but gentle voice. Levi opened his exhausted eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. "You caused me so worry," he pointed out and held out his hand to her, where Theia noticed the same bandage.
"What happened to you?" She reached carefully for his forearm, but Levi shook his head.
"It's nothing. The important thing is that you are okay. I was afraid that I lost you," he gently caressed her face. "Don't ever do anything like that to me again," he kept stroking her carefully, until he reached for the small bundle he had placed next to his body. "Say hello, to our daughter," Theia's pupils widened in surprise and her throat tightened while stretching her shaky fingers towards the baby, Levi was handing her. "I named her Kiara. It means "first ray of the sun". I believe that she will be our light, just like her incredibly brave mother," he kissed, still shocked Theia to the hair, who looked at the child as if it came from another world.
"I can't believe that we made it," she smiled and stroked the sleeping child's cheek.
"You made it. Thank you. You made me the happiest man on earth," he tucked both of his princesses in his arms and kissed Theia's hair while she didn't take her disillusioned gaze from the sleeping baby, when she realized how gently Levi was touching the baby. She looked up to his face and felt like clouds from heaven caressed her soul. He was smiling softly and his eyes were so tenderly looking at the baby, like the most precious thing in the world. An incredibly pleasant, warm feeling filled her body, and when she felt Levi's gentle fingers on her skin, she thought she might die of happiness. How is it even possible to experience, in a world like this, so much happiness at once, how is it possible to endure so much love at once. She closed her eyes and rested her head on Levi's chest where she felt his calm heartbeats. It didn't matter at all, because she would give all this love to them two, and they would give love back to her, and it would always be like that. From now, forever.
