Levi turned in horror to the voice he would know everywhere. His heart and chest were obsessed with despair. He returned his gaze to Staria, who pushed him to the wall, where he protected the unconscious, heavy bleeding Asher, with his own body and also noticed the smoke escaping from the metal door. His mind began to panic, while firmly holding the blade to push Staria's scythe, which was too close to his neck.
"You are incredibly strong when it comes to attacks on your person, but weak when it comes to your loved ones. It will kill you once," Staria told him honestly, while he pushed her away. At that time, she had to avoid the massive ax of Sebastian, who breathed hardly, holding his injury. "Oh, pretty boy. You don't want to hurt yourself, do you?" Staria smiled at Sebastian, grabbing the scythe, to resist his another attack.
"I could ask you the same, kitty," he blinked at her, jumping in front of Asher, whose Levi leaned on the wall, but Sebastian pushed him away. "Go for her," Sebastian said to Levi, who raised his eyes to him. "Just go, shorty!" Sebastian raised his voice and Levi hesitantly released Asher's limp body. He fired anchors and jumped into the air, but Staria chased him immediately.
"You won't go anywhere!" She shouted, but Levi avoided her chains, which wrapped around Sebastian's ax.
"Don't make me jealous, kitty," Sebastian moved so close to her, that she could see his cheerful smile.
Levi finally jumped on the top surface of the quarry and opened the door from which a huge smoke came out. He ran directly into it, and the first thing he noticed was a fire and empty cells without prisoners. Then, his eyes stopped at Marybell, bending over the massive table. He felt like blood stopped flowing in his veins. The muscles got a massive impulse again and he didn't need to think further. His body pulled out the sword itself and he walked towards the table. He pulled Marybell from Theia by his clothes and pierced his heart. Richard didn't even know who cut him, he was just looking at Theia, whose face was wetted by drops of hot blood. Levi pulled out the sword coldly, and before Marybell's body could fall to the ground, he cut off his head. The exhausted Theia lay on the table and closed her eyes. She felt Levi's warm hands covering her chest, and then removing the chains with great caution. He stroked her blue wrist and kissed them, while he felt like a huge stone fell from his heart because he realized that nothing had happened between them. Using teeth, he tore a piece of cloth from the shirt so he could cover a deep wound on her neck. Theia felt his kind touches, but she was afraid to open her eyes, she was afraid to look in his face.
"Forgive me, please," she whispered, and Levi could notice the first tears that found their way from behind her eyelids.
"Why are you apologizing?" He asked and his gaze finally softened. He helped her sit down, but before he could wipe her tears out of her face, she curled into his arms.
"I am very sorry, Levi. Forgive me," he stared silently ahead. "I never wanted to be cruel to you. I never wanted to hurt you," his muscles relaxed in relief and smiled weakly. He raised his hands so he could hug her gently.
"When did you become so cute?" He removed her hair off her face and kissed her head. "I'm the one here to apologize. I killed him. Our last evidence of Marybell's crimes," he breathed in disappointment, but Theia shook her head.
"It doesn't matter anymore. They're gone and you're safe. I love you. I love you a lot. Never leave me, please not you..." Theia pushed desperately to his body, as if it was her last rescue.
"I will always protect you. Believe me, you are safe with me," it seemed to her, like it was some time, she could hear his gentle, silent voice. "It's okay to rest, if you are tired. If it's tough, it's okay to cry. But at the same time, I hope you can smile again," she listened to his kind words and closed her eyes tightly, knowing she could be weak in his presence. Well, painful memories of laughing children who were eagerly waiting for goodies and toys, those sparkling eyes while listening to her fictional stories, the always smiling and sincere Theresa. Lahja and her swinging legs in the air... These memories will never disappear.
