What is the greatest human weakness and yet the strongest source of infinite power? How is it even possible that one single feeling can turn everything into a beautiful blossoming meadow, full of harmonious colors, intoxicating fragrance and incredible, mind-blowing sensations. But on the other hand, it has the power to turn the world into a hate-filled, living hell. Nothing creates such tremendous fear in a person's heart as the fear for the one they love. Nothing can crush a properly functioning mind into a heap of dust like the inability to protect the one to whom we have given a part of ourselves. By starting to think about someone other than ourselves, we present our vulnerable face to the world, we place that innocent, pure soul in front of our heart, ready to be hurt. How can we protect someone when they are exposed to the terrible world out there? This may seem like a pessimistic view of things. Maybe it is not true that love causes hatred, revenge, jealousy and especially the feeling that you can control anything if we control or destroy the love in our hearts. And what happens then? Even the most honest hero, who has decided to sacrifice everything for the welfare of humanity, is willing to reach into the infernal lava, hidden in the deepest depths of his tormented soul, and pull out the sword of the executioner, who will stop looking at who is guilty and who has an honest conscience. And please don't disprove my theory, because if the opposite happens, the feeling was not genuine. A hero who sacrifices the love of his life? Please don't trust such a hero. Better wait for the one huddled in the corner drowning in his own misery. They will calmly destroy the whole world just to protect you...

"I see the darkness inside, and it scares me..."

Military garrison base, Trost 20th May 844

"Commander, I suggest to demote Theia Smith,"

"Refused!" Dot Pixis. The commander of the military garrison, sat behind his desk, his hands folded in front of his face, watching the man in front of him very seriously.

"Of course. You've always had a soft spot for pretty women. Well, this is a serious situation,"

"I spoke with Theia, I know everything about the situation," he jumped into Sebastian's speech.

"Yes, and what did she say? That she was doing what she could?" He raised his voice.

"Not. She described to me in detail what happened in the underground cells. She told me that at least three innocent people lost their lives because of her actions. Tell me, Sebastian, how many times has something like this happened to us?" He raised an eyebrow and Sebastian paused so Pixis continued. "There is not a day when someone doesn't die. Someone, who should not have died. Behind the walls, underground. Often, we don't even know the numbers, not even the names of those people. If Theia had saved even one innocent life in that dungeon, it would have mattered. First of all, you should be grateful to her for saving you. Why do you still turn your hatred against her?" Pixis asked him, watching his shocked face.

"She could have done more..." he whispered.

"We can all do that. But it's not always possible," he carefully stood up and walked over to the glass case, where he took a bottle of alcohol and poured it for both of them. "The things that happened are not nice. I am sorry for every wasted life. But we are still here. We cannot stop ourselves from thinking: What if? It's still too early for that..." Pixis added mysteriously, as if he knew something more.

"I never understood your thoughts. But it doesn't change the fact that if she hadn't protected that scum from the underground, so many people wouldn't have died."

"And you're just complaining around because you didn't succeed, where she did?!" Sebastian was taken aback by his superior's words. He was more serious than ever before. "You're so mad at Theia that she saved someone she cares about and you didn't. Or is there another reason for your anger?" Sebastian watched Pixis' angry face nervously. He looked down. "I'll give you time. When you feel better, you'll return to a duty. I'll assign you two cadets to train to replace the agents we lost," Pixis said coldly and Sebastian nodded absently. "You can go and I don't want to hear you and Theia keep attacking each other. I have only the two of you,"
